Don't Mention Evolution - The Tehran Book Fair

Post by Clinton Huxley » Thu May 03, 2012 7:10 am

The Tehran International Book Fair is underway, in a country with pretty strict censorship rules. Darwin's works are available but only if they carry
an introduction to the book explaining that Darwin's views were unIslamic and untrue and the book was to be published to expose the wrongdoings and the decadence of the west.
The censors must tie themselves up in knots sometimes and the whole system is preposterous. More here

As Milton said in Areopagitica (I'm paraphrasing), "Everyone should be free to publish what they damned well please".
"I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled"

AND MERRY XMAS TO ONE AND All!
