Re: Romney
I like how the Young Turks, while attempting to slam Romney, implicitly slam the Obama Administration. See 1:45 in when they say that Romney doesn't love "your' freedom, because they imply he supports "all of these national security measures." Funny...The Obama Administration supports "all of these national security measures" 100%. So, if Romney doesn't support "your" freedom will they be consistent and say that Obama also does not support "your" freedom?
"Will indefinite detentions and warrantless wiretapping continue under Romney? Of COURSEEEE!!! Of courrsssee!!" Says the Young Turk....but, those indefinite detentions and warrantless wiretapping have continued under Obama. So, what is their gripe? Are they lambasting Obama too? Of course not. If they continue under Romney, "he doesn't give a dam about your freedom." So, doesn't that necessarily mean that Obama likewise does not give a damn about your freedom?

That segment is such a collection of straw men. I'm no fan of Romney, but seriously, could these idiots be any more bias?Tero wrote:We have a candidate

Re: Romney
I think the point was that all Romney is selling is freedom and less gubment and less raxes.
He is giving you freedom from food stamps. The job you gotta find yourself.

Freedom from a fraud-ridden government program that is abused and misused more than it helps anyone.Tero wrote: He is giving you freedom from food stamps. The job you gotta find yourself.
And, I wouldn't want the government picking my job for me anyway.
You make a good sales pitch!

I think the point is that The Young Turks are more about pushing particular political narrative than informing people about real policy debates.Tero wrote:I think the point was that all Romney is selling is freedom and less gubment and less raxes.

I think they can feel justified, it's not like the other side doesn't get any support from an unbiased media.andrewclunn wrote:I think the point is that The Young Turks are more about pushing particular political narrative than informing people about real policy debates.Tero wrote:I think the point was that all Romney is selling is freedom and less gubment and less raxes.

The scales are always well and truly grounded on the conservative side.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
Re: Romney
It's that type of, "for the cause!" "us and them," thinking that allows people to justify anything

Wait, you mean to say that the media is biased?
When did this happen?
When did this happen?

Re: Romney
In a February speech to the Detroit Economic
Club, Romney used smoke-screen rhetoric as he said, “There will be
some changes in current deductions and exemptions for high-income
Americans. Those who receive the greatest benefits from rate cuts will
see the most significant limits.”

Re: Romney
Loving freedom - all freedoms - is a sign that the person is an utter total moron.
Any society will have some freedoms and some restrictions. The alternative is chaos and anarchy. We have restrictions about how we drive on the highway, to stop us doing stupid things and killing people. Such restrictions are right and proper.
I love freedom too, but only the right freedoms. The ones that improve our lives. I love the opposite to freedom also - the restrictions, but only the right restrictions. The ones that improve our lives.
I am not American (Thank Finagle!), but if I were, Romney's rant on loving freedom would be enough to dissuade me from ever voting for the idiot.

For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.

Re: Romney
Good luck with that. I'm pretty sure there's a filibuster proof bipartisan supermajority in the senate from farm states willing to defend that farm subsidy to the death.Tero wrote:He is giving you freedom from food stamps.
