Two retired Church of England priests have been arrested in the Eastbourne area on suspicion of sexually abusing children and young men.

It's not exclusively a religious issue, but it does highlight the hypocrisy inherent in the guardians of other peoples moral values having none themselves .

I recall reading something many years ago about a group called "The Moralists", I suspect they were a Greek philosophy school but I can't recall, I was in my teens at the time. Anyway their credo was that in order to be moral, one had to transgress all perceived morality. I've always thought the religious were a bit like that. No use in needing absolution if you've lead a dull life. god has a special place in his heart for those who indulge in Kid fucking, murder and other tasteless activities when they repent and join his side. I'd imagine it's much like a bank giving preferential treatment to those customers they've wooed from another bank, while not really giving a shit about their loyal customers.
