As you may know some of the British Banks are still currently partially owned by the Government, i.e. paid for by us.

Now, one of those Banks, I won't mention which one other than to say it's cut 30,000 jobs since it was encouraged by the last Prime Minister to purchase a toxic collapsing bank. Anyway despite the clear debaclé which has left the bank (which actually did well prior to purchasing toxic bank) almost in financial ruin, the cuts continue in that banking group. As you can imagine this has led to low morale. The majority of the staff are currently being punished for the irresponsible actions of the Executives which has lead to a wage freeze and decreased and almost unachievable bonuses because the executives, (who remember didn't actually successfully do the job they were paid to do and so quite rightly didn't deserve bonuses) decided not to take their bonuses. However the majority of frontline staff have not fucked up the economy are now learning less than they were the previous year.

As you can imagine, they are quite pissed off.

Now this is not to complain about the poor bank staff, but to show you just how fucking juvenile, backwards and shockingly incompetent and oblivious to reality this bank's management is.

On Friday of last week, so I have been told, in order to improve morale and encourage extra sales someone in management thought it would be a good idea to supply their staff with boxes of blue blowout noisemakers, that they were told to blow to celebrate a sale. Not only was this a specific insult to the staff, treating them like children, but imagine if you will you were a customer calling in to a bank which is apparently in trouble, is shedding profit and staff, during a time of massive economic instability only to hear what sounds like, in the background, staff having some kind of free for all party, while the person you speaking to is so pissed of by this and the other shambolic free-jazz style management nonsense they have to endure that they sound like they really don't give a fuck if you need your overdraft extended to pay your rent, that you're actually an inconvenience.

Good business sense to piss of your staff and customers when your business is hanging by a thread right? Especially when we're all keeping it afloat.
