A Mercedes executive driving a rental car in Alabama fell afoul of the new racist immigration law in the state last week, and was arrested after being pulled over by police and asked for his papers and being unable to produce them.

The charges were dropped when the proper papers were produced in court. Wonder if they do that for brown people? Ignorance of the law being no excuse and all like that.

The city received an inquiry from the Governor's office. Bet he calls about all the brown people who get hassled by the fascist pigs, too.

Mercedes nearly didn't build a factory in Alabama in 1993 as a result of seeing Confederate flags all over the place. I bet they love this bullshit. Their lease is up shortly, too, and a Missouri paper urges them to move, saying, "We are the show-me state, not the show-me-your-papers state."

Hey, I have to show my driver's license if I get stopped. Why shouldn't a visitor to our country have to abide by the existing federal and state laws requiring them to produce the appropriate documents showing that they have permission to be here if and when they get stopped? I'm quite sure the German police ask for exactly the same thing when a Brit or an American is stopped in Munich. The fact is that the US has historically had the laxest rules and enforcement of visitor's and immigration documents of almost any nation on earth for many decades, which is why we have so many illegal aliens running around. Now we're tightening up the rules to the standards use by everyone else, and all you can do is bitch about it.

Nobody mentioned WHY the guy got stopped either. My rule is "If you don't want the police to be interested in what you are doing, don't do things that interest the police." I haven't been stopped in decades by following that advice.

I don't recall the actual numbers, but we do get a lot of Canadian illegals here too.

Not only that, but the two really amusing parts are, gee, how did the Governor find out (obviously Mercedes called him after having to bail out their exec, who was no doubt mad as a wet hen), and wow, what a great Governor after they move tens of thousands of jobs out of state over his jackbooted thug law. And you completely missed them.
