Bank Transfer Day Is Tomorrow
Are you tired of BOFFA and Citibank fucking you over? Tomorrow is your chance to get even.
Transfer your money to a local bank or credit union. You will get:
Lower fees
Lower interest rates on loans, and higher returns on your savings
The pleasure of knowing you are doing business with locals
The pleasure of registering your opinion where it matters
It's time to tell the sociopaths of the 0.1% that you're angry and nothing will tell them like a hit on their income. Deny BOFFA and Citibank and the rest of the banksters their fees and charges. Support banks in your local community. Put your money where it will do you and your neighbors some good.
Best of all, your money will be protected from greedy executives who might not get bailed out next time.
Transfer your money tomorrow.
That is all.

I've never been a fan of large banks and people are probably better off using more local credit unions.

I put 10K in the NFCU while I was in San Diego, savings only. Then I got transferred to Japan. When I went to withdraw some fun money they couldn't do it. They could see the money was in there, but they couldn't access it for withdrawal. I finally had to open a checking account and write checks to myself to get at my money.Ian wrote:I'm with Navy Federal Credit Union. I like it.

Then when I got back to the States I applied for a loan to buy a Harley. The NFCU rep told me they didn't do motorcycle loans because they were frivolous. :pissed: I took all my money out, put it in the LBNSY Credit Union and got my hog three days later.

I think a credit union ran by the federal government sort of defeats the purpose of it.Gawdzilla wrote:I put 10K in the NFCU while I was in San Diego, savings only. Then I got transferred to Japan. It's not run by the government, it's overseen by the Navy and is limited to eligible people. Otherwise it's just another C.U. The major difference is the address information starts withe "current".Tyrannical wrote:I think a credit union ran by the federal government sort of defeats the purpose of it.Gawdzilla wrote:I put 10K in the NFCU while I was in San Diego, savings only. Re: Bank Transfer Day Is Tomorrow
By chance I am with HSBC and have been for over 20 years. Again by chance they are about the most capitalised bank around - in the UK anyway and thir interest rates are some of the best, admitedly of a very bad bunch.
As an aside HSBC stands for Hong Kong Shanghai Bank. The bought out the old 'Midland Bank' in the UK twenty or more years ago. The new proprietors, I rwead at the time, felt that the British wouldn't take to a High Street bank having a Chinese association, thus the acronym.
How times change.
