It strikes me that these people are either disingenuous or stupid. They seem to take a stance that they are 'apolitical' and that they are the voice of common sense and are the only ones who really understand the Constitution. In reality they are deeply political - radically so in fact. If they got there way (deficit no withstanding) America would be a very different place as far as I can see.

"Some things never change"...what's that supposed to mean? The Tea Party has been cleaning up after other rallies for millenia?Warren Dew wrote:At least they clean up after themselves:

I would go with "stupid". No one is apolitical.Rum wrote:It strikes me that these people are either disingenuous or stupid. Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Enlighten us on how tea party policies will impact on the american people in their day to day lives and make it better?

Sure. With less government spending we'll have less currency inflation, and with less currency inflation, we'll have less price inflation. Food and fuel prices, which are squeezing the average working American right now, will be lower because the dollar will be worth more. And because the average person's real disposable income will be higher, that means more spending on manufactured goods as well, which will help reduce unemployment throughout the economy..Morticia. wrote:Enlighten us on how tea party policies will impact on the american people in their day to day lives and make it better?
It would make life better in the rest of the world too. Tea Party groups generally support Defense secretary Gates' proposed $145 billion in Defense cuts, which should help discourage random military adventures like Libya.

Populist movements are simple people who get angry. Yes, they are naive.
