This is EXACTLY what I meant when I started that thread about capitalism needing a tweak. The gap between rich and poor is getting ridiculous, and entrenched, because the very richest pay the least tax.
If one govornment increases their tax even slightly, they just move the money somewhere else. These guys can see that every day, and are clearly embarassed, but should we be leaving it to the honest, or charitable ones?
If the major govornments of the world got together to close the loopholes, this sort of thing wouldn't be needed.

The problem here is the amount of accumulated wealth. Fix that, this charity give away does nothing to solve the problem of massive inequality. I would also be interested to see what charities they gave to and if the donations were tax deductible. Among other things.

thanks for the link, I'll give it look when I have some more time, looks like its just letters about how generous they are, although I do think they name the charities. Don't think there is a mention about tax deductions.

I always wondered how much is exactly enough. Seems some never think they have enough even when they have money enough for another 10 life times.

I would create my own charity if I had that kind of money.

It's the nature of capitalism. If you don't make more every year it is considered a failure. Profit is king, growth is the goal. Unfortunately for everyone, things can only grow so much before they explode.
