The former top Ukrainian general who was kicked upstairs by Zelinsky and is currently ambassador to the UK is touted by the article as a potential challenger. According to 'internal polling obtained by the Economist' the general has around 60% to the president's 30%.

As the article correctly points out the only reason this is getting any attention is because the useful idiot Trump is parroting a bullshit Russian talking point. Ukraine, being at war for its very survival, is under martial law:

According to US President Donald Trump , it is "not very important" that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi be involved in ceasefire negotiations.

Trump told Fox News that it is difficult to make deals with Zelensky.

Trump also stated at a meeting of US governors that Ukraine has "nothing to bring" to the negotiating table.

Trump says he has had good conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin , unlike with Ukraine.

"They [Ukraine] have nothing to bring to the negotiations, but they're still trying. But we're not going to let this continue," Trump says.

Trump and Vance needed to create an incident to provide a justification for their pre-planned abandonment of Ukraine now, then separation from NATO in the near future. That’s what that was all about, and that was always the way a second Trump term was going to go.

Zelensky has excellent English but it isn't perfect. In Ukrainian a business suit is called "костюм" -- kostyum. But it works either way.

That dipshit bootlicking reporter was just echoing Trump's reported grumbling about Zelensky not wearing a suit. Meanwhile the president manqué Musk prances around in a t-shirt constantly, including when he brought his sprog to the Oval Office to wipe his nose-pickings on the Resolute desk. I doubt that "Real America's Voice," the employer of that reporter, has ever managed to comment on what Musk wears in the White House.

Indeed. I don't intend to deny that Zelensky was doing some meta stuff about the real world of leading a country under attack from a powerful and malevolent neighbor, in comparison to the American bozos posturing in their gilded lair: wearing expensive clothing, cosseted and insulated from consequences by their positions of power. The 'costume' comment despite its probable origin in Ukrainian could very well have been intentional. Unlike Trump*, Zelensky appears to have some genuine wit. His imperfect English is an ideal medium for throwing in some zingers.
