It's amazing to me--these people are actively trying to get faithful viewers killed by the COVID. The Fox News viewer demographic tends to be older folks, who are statistically more vulnerable to the bug. The American right-wing fixation on 'natural' immunity does nothing but encourage people to roll the dice, and inevitably some of them are going to get snake eyes.

Doesn't seem to be happening here in God's Waiting Room. 60-65 is 88% vaccinated, 65+ is 90% (that's me, folks). Total state is at 70%, but that includes the 5-11 age group, which is only at 12% currently. Whatever Fox is peddling ain't selling.

For Dec 10 - 16th (latest figures) cases are up to almost 30,000 but deaths are down at 283. Delta hit us hard back in August with almost 3000 deaths a week, this variant has been a bit more benign so far, knock wood. CFR is under 1%, whereas Delta was running at about 1.6%. From what I can find the VAST majority of deaths are among the unvaccinated.

Honestly, if you're unvaccinated by choice the gene pool is probably better off without you anyway.

Mrs. Lak and I are due for boosters in January, we'll line up like good little Kameraden and accept the Mark of the Beast.

We had a press conference tonight with the MP (PM), minister of health and the dictator from the RIVM. Tomorrow we go into complete lockdown. We will not have curfew. Why? As the dictator from RIVM explained his computer models are showing a massive wave coming from the latest variant. They have no actual facts but with presumptions based on the Delta variant we will be up shitcreak.
When asked if the presumptions were based on hard facts he said no and any positive movement would produce positive results. This is the crap being spread by most governments based on presumptions. They use a great Dutch phrase "het is beter zeker te zijn dan onzeker" (it is better to be sure than unsure).
So it does not matter the little dictator got his way even though hospital numbers are drastically falling (27% compared to last week). Even IC's numbers are falling. We have roughly 500 on a population of 17,5 million. They dont even know how seriously ill you will be from this variant. Nothing will be known for another 10 days. Yet and yet. It is turning into a slightly more serious type of flue. (Still no definition of what a Covid death is)
