Who gives a fuck about facts. I'm Trump and my followers never give up!
Donald Trump Gets Fact-Checked By Reporter Right To His Face, Walks Away
A reporter earned praise Monday after she called out President Donald Trump, over one of his more questionable claims, right to his face.

CBS’ Paula Reid challenged Trump over his discredited assertion that his administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border was the same as that conducted by former President Barack Obama.

“Obama had a separation policy. We all had the same policy,” Trump said. “You did not have it, sir. No, you didn’t,” Reid fired back.

Trump said he “tried to do it differently” and claimed “Obama had a separation policy” but “people don’t like to talk about it.” As Trump walked away, Reid said: “Sir, it was different. You decided to prosecute everyone at the border.”

I'm tired of these arguments. Let's get specific. Show how much of their money goes where to improve equality, and the impact these changes have on their business with the uncertainty of the future taken into account, and we've got a real discussion.

I know CEOs make too much from my point of view, but if I can't provide an alternative with specifics all I've got is butthurt. If you want more people on our side, then explain how it works. Give examples of people doing it right, of corporations that you see doing the right thing and are still thriving.

...and put all that into slogan that'll fit on a hat.

To find such examples, you would probably have to look outside the USA... :tea:

Standard operating procedure for the gold-plated champion of the common man.

'Contractors File Liens Against Trump D.C. Hotel, Claiming They Were Stiffed Out Of $5M'
Three contractors have filed liens against President-elect Donald Trump’s showcase Washington, D.C., hotel, claiming they are owed $5 million in labor costs, according to records.

The so-called mechanic’s liens were filed against the 263-room, five-star Trump International Hotel in November and December with the District of Columbia, according to records obtained by Bloomberg and The Washington Post. Trump has boasted that he completed the $212 million renovation ahead of time and under budget.

A statement from the Trump Organization to the Post did not specifically address the merits of the filings, only that “nominal liens at the conclusion of construction is not uncommon as part of the close out process.”
What's the big deal? Jerking contractors around and outright shafting them is just how things are done. Stupid leftists just don't get it.

The media ecosystem!
:funny:
Yes, it was always fitting that the pravda network supporting an American regime with authoritarian dreams would not actually be a direct arm of the government, but part of a massive corporation looking to make a buck. Fox News has long found extreme right-wing conservatism—and the racial resentment and conspiratorial thinking that power it—very profitable. But the Trump Era has taken it into a brave new world.

The network, and particularly the hallowed ground of American political discourse that is its morning show, Fox & Friends, is now locked in a symbiosis of stupid with the world's most powerful man. Fox News will say something, and the president repeats it as fact. The president will spout off, and Fox News will find a way to justify the inane ramblings of a man whose brain is steadily melting from the hours and hours of television he pumps into it each day. The president knows little about anything, and cares less. His administration is a caricature of corruption. But he has an entire media ecosystem—of which Fox News is the crown jewel, but talk radio and digital detritus do their part—to prop this circus up.

I saw that Daily Beast piece. As I read it I could hear the 'whaddabout Donna Brazile and CNN?!' yelps coming from the right. Never mind that it was a national news story and CNN gave Brazile the boot when it learned of her action, while this story isn't making much of a splash. There is very little chance that Fox News will be held accountable in the same way as CNN, because only Fox News devotees and Trumpists consider it a legitimate news organization.

Yep it is going great in MAGA. 14,700 jobs lost.

'GM is Oshawa': Canadians respond to General Motors' decision to close plant
Following announcement that company will close three plants, Oshawa employees wonder why theirs is shutting down

It’s not just workers who are angry. The political backlash to the move is just getting started. Both Trump and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau have expressed their disappointment with GM. Both countries gave billions to GM and other car companies after they nearly went bust in the last recession.

On Tuesday the US president threatened to cut all of GM’s subsidies. “General Motors made a big China bet years ago when they built plants there (and in Mexico) - don’t think that bet is going to pay off. I am here to protect America’s Workers!” he tweeted.

To many workers, the decision to close the plant felt like a betrayal after years of concessions to keep the company profitable during the worst days of the recession.
Greed pure and simple.

It really is MAGA but not as Trump intended.

Lost jobs, shrinking growth, and rotting crops — here are all the ways Trump’s trade war is hurting America
Eight months on from the opening salvos of President Donald Trump’s trade war, and the real world impacts are starting to be felt across the globe.

Business Insider took a look at some of the companies and industries blaming a downturn on the president’s trade policy.

The world’s largest shipping company, American farmers, and small manufacturers are among those who have explicitly blamed tariffs for issues in their businesses.

there is corporate greed of course

but the straw that broke GM back was steel prices, part prices, battery prices etc.
Thanks Trump!

Trump supporter TrumpTrain Tweets about 3800 monthly payment to "illegal refugees"
Refugee and Immigrant Policy in the U.S.
The U.S. doesn’t have a federal assistance program for refugees. So, if there’s no program, then there’s no monthly payment of $3,800 to refugees!

You have to first be eligible for refugee status in the U.S. Secondly, the person must provide documentary proof of his or her refugee status to be eligible for RCA.

To be eligible for RCA, the applicant must have resources less than $1,000. Upon receiving approval for this program, a family of two without a source of income could get $420. If the family’s income exceeds $839, they will no longer receive RCA.

No welfare
Bill Clinton signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. It stipulated that even legal immigrants can’t take advantage of federal benefits unless they’ve lived in the U.S. for at least five years.

Of course the president of the US retweeted that falsehood, along with other tripe from the same nutcase. It seems he has no more perspicacity than the prototypical dittohead. This endears him to similarly simple-minded ideologues.

'Trump promotes fan account image fantasizing about jailing Mueller and Rosenstein for "treason"'
President Donald Trump retweeted four posts in a row from a fan account, including an image showing Barack Obama, deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and special counsel Robert Mueller in a jail cell for “treason.”

The president fired off a tweet Wednesday morning bitterly complaining that Mueller was pressuring “at least 3 major players” to plead guilty in the Russia probe, and then shared four tweets in quick succession from “The Trump Train” account, which his account does not follow.
