I would've voted first thing this morning, but the line looked too long and it was cold outside.

It's OK - I'm getting off early for a teacher conference anyway, so I'll vote in the middle of the day when almost nobody is there.

There were about 30 people in line when I was waiting to vote early this morning. Most of them were very likely Republicans, since Democrats like to sleep in. Howard Dean announced that having voting start as early as 7am is voter suppression of Democrats, because they typically don't wake up until more like 11am, which means that they have fewer hours in the day to get out the door to get to the polling place.

Coito - historically, Democrats vote earlier in the day than Republicans.

Overall, having polls open for longer hours tend to benefit Democrats, not Republicans. If that were not the case, would we have seen John Husted make such an ass out of himself these past few months?

Hadn't heard this. Where did you get this information? I had heard they typically engage in "early voting" (days previous to the election day), but I had not heard that they voted earlier in the day.
