It's OK - I'm getting off early for a teacher conference anyway, so I'll vote in the middle of the day when almost nobody is there.

There were about 30 people in line when I was waiting to vote early this morning. Most of them were very likely Republicans, since Democrats like to sleep in. :smoke: Howard Dean announced that having voting start as early as 7am is voter suppression of Democrats, because they typically don't wake up until more like 11am, which means that they have fewer hours in the day to get out the door to get to the polling place.
Coito - historically, Democrats vote earlier in the day than Republicans.

Overall, having polls open for longer hours tend to benefit Democrats, not Republicans. If that were not the case, would we have seen John Husted make such an ass out of himself these past few months?

And why are you listening to what Howard Dean says?

Cast my vote.

And having a fussy baby helped me skip to the front of the line! (after a half-hour wait anyway.)

Yes. Canadian tire money.
Okay then, I'll bet $500 C$ on Obama.

Democrats must be nervous -- MSNBC and Howard Dean are declaring that the only way Obama can lose is through fraud. What a pack of losers.

The odds on Obama are 1:3 because if he loses I will lose all faith in the American voting public. :nono:

Hadn't heard this. Where did you get this information? I had heard they typically engage in "early voting" (days previous to the election day), but I had not heard that they voted earlier in the day.

I was joking. Howard Dean didn't say that. But, from the things he actually says, it doesn't sound implausible, eh?

I imagine it's rougher on you non-US observers, because you don't understand everything that's going on.

Good news, nobody else does either.

LOL - clicked the link, and it's nothing anyone ought to be proud of. Democrats also believe in demonic possession -- to the tune of 50%. LOL So, point fingers and laugh that only 50% of you believe in demonic possession.

Democrats are more likely to believe in ghosts than Republicans by a 39 percent to 35 percent margin, the article says.

Democrats say black cats are good luck by a 43-20 margin but Republicans are split 31-26.

52% of all voters believe that houses can be haunted.

That's what they have to do to win.
