Explain to me why Ivy League universities are receiving hundreds of millions of taxpayer $$ as they sit on their own millions?

Short version: they do research. The money does not go to educating rich kids. Or professor salaries.

A vast majority of MAGA are on SNAP, Medicaid, and Disability and live in economically depressed areas of the country. They don’t have the $ to purchase new Teslas.
Just a fact. Do with it as you wish.

It's the clean living that keeps their minds clear and their hearts pure, unlike the rest of us. Or something.

'MAGA Pol Behind "Trump Derangement Syndrome" Bill Caught in Teen Sex Sting'
The MAGA politician who introduced a bill classifying “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as a mental illness has been arrested for allegedly soliciting a teen for sex. According to police, Minnesota state Sen. Justin Eichorn had arranged to meet someone who he thought was a 16-year-old girl for sex. Unknown to him, he had been texting police, who arrested him when he arrived at the arranged meeting location. His arrest comes just a day after he and four other Republican state senators introduced a senate bill classifying “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as a mental illness. The purported syndrome has been used by Donald Trump and his supporters to dismiss and discredit his critics. Eichorn’s bill describes it as “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons that is in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J. Trump.” Symptoms supposedly include the “verbal expressions of intense hostility” towards the president or acts of violence towards him and his supporters. Eichorn, who is married with four children according to his biography page, was booked into the Bloomington Police Department jail and will be transported to the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.

Elsewhere:
Why do far-right loons always have to be so absolutely terrified of everything the tiniest bit different from what they're used to? What's a "gender-nonconforming haircut"? Hair styles continuously change as do norms for clothing, activities, speech, and behaviour. Used to be women couldn't wear pants, today it's normal, despite people who were probably terrified and outraged of women wearing "gender-nonconforming clothing".
My theory is that it's unconscious terror of mortality. Some people attempt to exert control over as many things in life that they can because unconsciously they are aware of the one reality that cannot be controlled: the inexorability of death. It's all always sex and death at the base of things. Or salsa music. Those three things dominate the human psyche and drive all our actions.

Cut the department of eduacation. All in the plan. Deny quality education for millions so that less than 100 trans kids across the country will not be able to do sports in the wrong team.

The department of education was set up by Jimmy Carter. Long before that the far right was on a plan to privatize all schools. But they would need to do it state by state.

Elsewhere:
My Conservative roommate is rejoicing. He's long hated the DofE. He's hated it philosophically, because he says it pushes the mistaken notion that every child has a right to an education. He and I were teachers in the same international school back in the Nineties. There were a couple of troublemakers in our classes that he insisted should never be allowed in a classroom.

He continued his career in public schools here in the Phoenix metropolitan area where he continued to say that the problem with American education was that it tried to educate those who can't be (These, according to him, usually being of certain non-white demographics.)

He believes education should be privatized. Then, with school choice, schools could choose whom they could tolerate student-wise.

He would not have to suffer disruptive rotters in his classes. Poor F. His racism, sexism, and inflexibility in his methods while blaming the students for not getting his approach, kept bringing him to unfortunate situations with the various school districts, till his teaching certification was revoked.
We have had inner city schools at all times the past 70 years. My kids had the last of the black kids bussed to the suburbs.

I was in about 10 schools as a kid. Two of them I was in twice (my Finnish school at age 11 and 14). Anyway, back just past the middle of the previous centrury I was in a Chicago school for 2 months on the North side. The school had no books. I still remember doing physics lab with pulleys and a good history teacher that drew on the black board a feudal village.
