Sent from my penis using wankertalk.
"The Western world is fucking awesome because of mostly white men" - DaveDodo007.
"Socialized medicine is just exactly as morally defensible as gassing and cooking Jews" - Seth. Yes, he really did say that..
"Seth you are a boon to this community" - Cunt.

Foreigners
Pennsylvania delegate John Fredericks had a simple recommendation for Tuesday’s immigration speakers, “Close the border. If you’re here illegally, get them out – now. That’s all I’m interested in. Get them out.”

At rallies and other campaign events, Trump has pointed to examples of migrants who committed heinous crimes and blamed migration for the trafficking of drugs like fentanyl. His anti-immigrant rhetoric has also strayed into talking points not backed by evidence, including unfounded claims that migrants are entering the country to vote in the 2024 election.

I hate Republicans for this. It’s like they’re blind to the fact that immigrants have problems but aren’t the problem. It’s so simple but they don’t get it. They don’t get it even when their parents were the first people born in the US from their families. Even though they know their grandparents came with others, some doing well, many others not. It’s stupid.

The problem is they fear we can’t keep our comfortable lifestyles if we pass some tipping point with immigration. We will literally be replaced by what immigrants are running from. And there is some sense to that.

But the irony is that beyond just keeping them out, the Republicans don’t have an answer, and in fact their thinking may actually encourage what they fear most (eg women’s rights, defunding education).

They want to run against Kamala?
DeSantis spoke immediately after Haley, and focused his remarks on criticizing President Biden and his administration. "As a citizen, as a husband and as a father, I am alarmed that the current president of the United States lacks the capability to discharge the duties of his office," he said.
Unlike mumbling Biden, Trump is strong because...he raised his fist?
"We will not be alone in this fight. For leading us in this fight will be a man who, although wounded and facing danger, he stood up and raised his fist and reminded us that our people and our country are always worth fighting for," Rubio said.

Apparently some servile Reoublicans at the convention wore ear bandages.

The future leader of GOP? Who knows. Checking Vance's hillbilly credentials. There is drug addiction, check. Divorced parents, check.
James Donald Bowman was born on August 2, 1984, in Middletown, Ohio, to Beverly Carol (née Vance; born 1961) and Donald Ray Bowman (1959–2023). He is of Scots-Irish descent.[2][3] His parents divorced when he was a toddler. Shortly afterward, Bowman was adopted by his mother's third husband, Bob Hamel, and had his name changed to James David Hamel.[4]

Vance's childhood was marked by poverty and abuse, and his mother struggled with drug addiction.[5] Vance and his sister Lindsey were raised primarily by his maternal grandparents, James (1929–1997) and Bonnie Vance.
Middletown is just outside Cincinnati, where I lived. The real hillbilly area does not start until the Kentucky side. This Middletown is very white suburban middle class America. Our Jewish frends lived there. That is how average Ohio life it was. it had a struggling amusement park. It was the place of our only Jimmy Buffet concert while in Ohio.
Vance blames hillbilly culture and its supposed encouragement of social rot. Comparatively, he feels that economic insecurity plays a much lesser role. To lend credence to his argument, Vance regularly relies on personal experience. As a grocery store checkout cashier, he watched welfare recipients talk on cell phones, although the working Vance could not afford one.
Cell phones! Poor people with cell phones in...late 1990s?
The book provoked a response in the form of an anthology, Appalachian Reckoning: A Region Responds to Hillbilly Elegy, edited by Anthony Harkins and Meredith McCarroll. The essays in the volume criticize Vance for making broad generalizations and reproducing myths about poverty.

Hillbillies in suburban Cincinnati. Still confused. Republcan presidents never have a good economy.
But there’s a reason Bailey, Dobbins and a number of other Middletown residents say they are not especially concerned by Vance being rocketed into the political mainstream without much in the way of experience – it’s because they have complete faith in the person who picked him: Donald Trump.

“I like Trump,” says Bailey. “And I think they’ll do a lot of good work together.”

“Trump’s not a politician. He’s a businessman,” says Dobbins, who worked as a fabricator at a nearby aerospace company before retiring. “When Trump got in [in 2016], things started looking better economy-wise, business-wise. I don’t think he can be beat [in November].”

How it goes when two candidates have some claim to fame and run. Then an unknown Christian grabs the election.
Ronald Reagan, a leader among the conservatives, launched his campaign in autumn of 1975. Hoping to appease his party's right wing and sap Reagan's momentum, Ford requested that Rockefeller not seek election and the vice president agreed to this request.[146] Ford defeated Reagan in the first several primaries, but Reagan gained momentum after winning North Carolina's March 1976 primary.[147] Entering the 1976 Republican National Convention, neither Ford nor Reagan had won a majority of delegates through the primaries, but Ford was able to win the support of enough unpledged delegates to win the presidential nomination. Senator Bob Dole of Kansas won the vice presidential nomination.

Eleven major contenders competed in the 1976 Democratic primaries. At the start of the primaries, former Governor Jimmy Carter of Georgia was little-known nationally, but he rocketed to prominence with a victory in the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. A born again Christian, Carter emphasized his personal morality and his status as a Washington outsider.

In the end, Carter won the election, receiving 50.1% of the popular vote and 297 electoral votes compared with 48.0% of the popular vote and 240 electoral votes for Ford.[156] Ford dominated in the West and performed well in New England, but Carter carried much of the South and won Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.
Lucky for Reagan he did not have to face the peanut farmer in 1976.

But the convention did pick the cnadidate: Results (president) Ford (MI): 1,187 (52.57%)
Reagan (CA): 1,070 (47.39%)
Richardson (MA): 1 (0.04%)
