That worked out really well in all the countries where it's been tried. Imagine Animavore refereeing articles on climate change, for example. You'd never read about that small bunch of brave billionaires' fight for truth against the 97% of corrupt, lying climatologists.

If anything was an incitement to hatred, it's the sun and daily mail. Grounds for a ban I think.

False news also ought to be grounds for a ban. They could have yellow and red cards, like in proper football.
All of the BBC shit about how great the royal family are should be classified as false news.
It's not news, and the royals are a bunch of cunts.

Ban "fake" news and you gag the world.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

False logic. That is merely an argument for ME to be the judge of whether the news if false or not.

Anyway, news isn't just false or true. I didn't say ban the stuff in the middle.

Like Pizzagate and all those people the Clintons had murdered.

Either way someone needs to determine what is false, true, or in the middle. That hasn't worked in the past. It's not going to work now or in the future.

It works in court. Ever heard of courts?

Not true. They have SOME reliability.

They don't have perfect reliability. What does?

How are British judges selected? are they necessarily competent?
I was thinking of the US where the qualifications to be a judge are more than iffy, and where considerations beyond the law often color verdicts in the wrong shade.

There are better places than the US, and there are a lot worse, as far as legal systems go.

The worst thing about them all, is their reluctance to change an outcome, even when it's obvious that the original verdict was wrong. That's a disgrace right around the world.

You mean the courts that adjudicate what news stories are true, false or in the middle? Yes, I've heard of them. Historically they all have a tendency to shut entire publications down. Need I mention any examples of regimes that did that?
