If you are going to run into a minefield, better to be the second person in....

No need to rationalize. By all means, bring up the rear. You can carry our bags.

Pump the caves full of nerve gas, that would kill anyone in it, and with the right compound kill anyone else that tries to reoccupy it over the next few years.
It's like we are trying to fight with two hands and two legs tied behind our backs.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

If we were not in Afghanistan in the first place, meddling in their affairs, we'd never have been attacked from there.

When did that happen?, must have missed it. I do remember a bunch of Saudi's getting into lots of nasty terrorist stuff but we have sorted that out by selling them lots of military hardware and accepting lots of bribes on the contracts

Yes yes, for sure. A group of non-governmental murderers in the name of the One True God demanded that Americans remove their filthy infidel feet from holy ground. And, they were right to do so. Let that be a lesson to us.

And 9/11 has anything to do with the non-existant Afghanistan goverment (don't think they have managed one in several centuries)

If we made 9/11 a religious war it'd be over with already. There isn't a single Muslim country that can defend against genocide level biological/nuclear/chemical attacks. By now we'd have been celebrating and recolonizing their areas for years.
Hitler and his silly inefficient gas chambers, we bring them to you :{D

Al Qaeta was based in Afghanistan. What would you suggest?

It is a religious war to Al Qaeta.
