Even Fox News's own pet legal eagle Andrew Napolitano believes this action violates US law.

While the reaction will be interesting, I think that Republican crafted US Supreme Court conservative majority, including the Trump toady and vocally partisan Republican Kavanaugh will give this their rubber stamp, should it come to that.
If this is indeed the case it will probably be overturned by a judge, whom Trump will then vilify - further politicising the judiciary and undermining its independence.
Yes, I was skipping over a few steps, in which there is a challenge in court and a judge rules against the appointment, the ruling is appealed (perhaps rinse and repeat a couple of times) till it gets to the US Supreme Court.

Given Whitaker's very public statements against the Mueller investigation, including musing about ways that the investigation could be thwarted by a successor to Sessions, to me this has every appearance of an attempt to obstruct justice--not the action of somebody who has nothing to fear from the outcome of the investigation. If it were the case that Trump felt confident he had no reason to be concerned about what the investigation would find, Rosenstein would now be acting Attorney General, as the law states he should be. From a legal ethics point of view Whitaker should recuse himself from oversight of the investigation, but I'd be happy to bet that's not going to happen.

Summary? What point was made and supported here?
Watch it to find out.
Not going to bother, unless some point is made. It's John Oliver.

Looks like Jim Acosta's White House credentials have been revoked. Trump's facist party further attack the first amendment proving the fight isn't near over and these scumbags need to be further beaten back to the fringes of society.

Were they invited guests, or were they visiting members of the public? It's hard to tell there.

Oh, wait -
White House Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters emailed The Daily Beast that Casey “was one of more than twenty-five thousand people who came to the White House Fall Garden Tour, which is open to the public. Free tickets are made available to anyone who wants to attend.”
So, it makes absolute sense that this would be considered an important news item.

By coincidence this popped up on my Facebook feed right now.

It's such a shame demagoguery, hatred, and scapegoating are back in vogue around the World. At least some of us understand there's only one outcome to this madness if left unchecked.

Jim Acosta's credentials should have been revoked. Did you see his behavior?

Jim Acosta doesn't own the seat there. CNN didn't lose its credentials. Jim Acosta did. And, when you go there to argue with the President, rudely, to consistently interrupt him mid-sentence in order to score political points under the guise of being there as a straight news reporter, and not a pundit, and then you are given your question opportunity, and the question is answered, and then you refuse to give up the microphone, demanding argumentative follow-up questions when the President has moved on to another member of the press, you're behaving as a petulant child - a partisan one. And when the white house staffer whose job it is to pass the microphone to the next reporter in the queue comes over to take the mic and pass it along, he pushed her arm away and repeatedly pulled the mic away from her so she could not do her job, it's not interference with the briefing.

He's a grandstander and an unethical reporter. Look at what he did at the Trump-Kim meeting, when he just shouted out questions at the President and Kim Jong Un -- like, "Will you give up your nuclear weapons, sir!" -- shouted at the DPRK leader in the middle of the public appearance, but not during any question time. What the fuck does he expect the guy to do? Answer the fucking question while they're walking away? "Oh, yes, yes! Jim, thanks for asking that! I'll be giving up my nuclear weapons now!" What idiot reporter does that?

Another example of this "reporter" pushing a partisan agenda in his straight news reporting --
CNN needs to put a muzzle on so-called reporter Jim Acosta, who decided yesterday his job called for him to act as a sanctimonious advocate for illegal immigrants, while yelling at the president in front of children.

The Easter egg hunt is supposed to be a lighthearted event for families of reporters, staff and invited guests who gather at the White House for a day of Easter activities.

But Acosta — part of the crowd that’s constantly incensed about Trump’s behavior — couldn’t bring himself to exercise a little decorum while President Trump was coloring with young children.

“What about the DACA kids?” he began shouting at Trump. “Should they worry about what’s going to happen to them?”

Trump tweeted this weekend that a deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy isn’t going to happen.

“DACA is dead because the Democrats didn’t care or act, and now everyone wants to get onto the DACA bandwagon,” Trump tweeted. “No longer works. Must build Wall and secure our borders with proper Border legislation. Democrats want No Borders, hence drugs and crime!”

Trump actually gave Acosta the time of day, responding, “The Democrats have clearly let them down.”

Then Trump returned to coloring with his son, Melania and other young kids.

But that response wasn’t good enough for the CNN talking head, who doubled down.

“Didn’t you kill DACA? Didn’t you kill DACA?”

Trump ignored him. Frankly, Trump should not have justified the first round of questions with a response.

Ultimately Acosta looked like the poster boy for biased reporting that Trump continues to hammer on Twitter — to the delight of his voters, who agree with him. Behaving unprofessionally just to have a news segment on Wolf Blitzer’s afternoon show is not solid journalism. It is clickbait reporting that only hurts your integrity.
Showing up to an event and asking a politician a question unrelated to the day’s activities is basic reporting 101. It is how most news stories are developed. But any journalist also knows you need to be aware of your surroundings.

Screaming accusations — let alone the word “kill” — at a children’s party where the president blows a whistle and children use wooden spoons to roll Easter eggs across the lawn? Secret Service should have rolled him off the property.

But Acosta would have loved that — as would his Trump-hating bosses, who won’t muzzle him because he is doing exactly what they want him to. Lately his stories are so self-indulgent that it’s hard to imagine even liberals can’t see through his fake news generating antics
.

Another -
Acosta is present at a White House event where President Trump delivered remarks about the five journalists murdered in Maryland on Thursday. As you will see, though, Acosta is clearly too far away to be seen or heard by the president.

Nevertheless, although there is no way he will be heard, Acosta drops all pretense of professionalism to still holler a question to the president: “Will you stop calling the press the enemy of the people, sir?”
Watch as Acosta turns around to look at his cameraman and appears to ask if they got the shot. Then the camera lights are shut off, which again reveals just how staged and artificial all of this is.

This is not journalism.

Acosta and CNN knew Trump was too far away to hear the question.

This is staging news, manufacturing news, a fictional piece of propaganda produced as a means to deliberately mislead the public and embarrass the president.

If these staged theatrics are not bad enough, Acosta and CNN then doubled down in their deliberate crusade to mislead. “I tried to ask the president if he would stop calling us the enemy of the people. He did not respond,” Acosta tweeted Friday:
https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/c ... ws.211106/
Acosta is so far away from Trump, you can barely make out the president from where Acosta is standing, and yet, to fabricate fake news, Acosta films the propaganda of him shouting a futile question and then publicly accuses Trump of refusing to answer.

If the media do not want to be called the “enemy of the people,” maybe they should stop acting like it.
Jim Acosta said, "Isn't it a "fake news conference" to take a question from a reporter who is essentially an ally of the White House?" - I guess every conference during the Obama administration was fake, since CNN got to ask questions every time, and they had their tongues so far up the Obama administration's ass they were tickling his tonsils.

Acosta is a partisan hack, and big fucking joke. Give someone that seat who wants to go there and report the news, not advocate a political position.

I was watching Hitler's Last Year on History Channel and after Germany fell German citizens were brought to the concentration camps to see what they'd done.

Do you think if we did that to Trump supporters now and brought them to the child detention centres it may prompt them to do something before they stand aside and let a true atrocity happen under Trump and his cabal of scumbags?
