In the interim, however, the U.S. still has to find some way to pay for the wall upfront. Members of Congress in both parties have expressed reservations about shelling out billions of dollars for a wall. Congress could raise taxes to pay for it, but that’s deeply unpopular with members, and often with voters. Congress could cut funding from other programs, but taking money away from other programs has a way of eliciting public ire. Or they could simply run up the deficit, which Republicans tend to view as unacceptable during Democratic administrations and more or less fine during Republican ones. So far, the Trump administration has had good luck bending the GOP-led Congress to its will.

For now, all of these questions are just as speculative as they were Wednesday morning. Trump has reaffirmed his intention to build a wall, but in most respects his signature policy remains as vague, and perhaps even vaguer, than it was during the presidential campaign—despite his affixing his signature.

BUT
PHILADELPHIA — Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will authorize $12 to $15 billion for a wall spanning the entire U.S.-Mexico border as soon as Sept. 30, the Republican leaders said Thursday.

They would not say whether they would offset the costs of the wall — which President Trump repeatedly vowed would be paid for by Mexico — with budget cuts elsewhere or taxes. The comments came midway through the Republicans’ annual retreat, this year called “Congress of Tomorrow,” during which lawmakers are plotting their first 200 days of repealing and replacing Obamacare and reforming the tax code.

It's hard to take this kind of talk seriously. I mean, where do they get the money for anything? It's the same questions for everything they do. So, what's the real objection then?
Well, he has prommised on one side to lower taxes and on the other to launch huge expensive programs, so either he'll borrow heavily, or he'll print funny money, likely the second but possibly both.

It's hard to believe that were its funding settled it would pass unopposed.

Trump and Congress now going to do the exact Infrastructure plan that the racists blocked Obama from doing.

They have stayed oddly silent as Mr. Trump and Senate Democrats push a $1 trillion infrastructure plan, larger than one they rejected from President Barack Obama. Once fierce promoters of the separation of powers, Republicans are now embracing Mr. Trump’s early governing by executive order, something they loudly decried during Mr. Obama’s second term.

Alex Jones (InfoWars) says that the Trump administration has offered him press credentials to attend White House press briefings. It could be that this is a sign of things to come.

Trump said that since the press didn't like the idea of being kicked out of the White House, he's not going to do that. Instead, rather than the current longstanding arrangement in which the White House Correspondents' Association decides who gets a seat in the briefing room, Trump has said,
We have so many people that want to go in so we'll have to just have to pick the people to go into the room – I'm sure other people will be thrilled about that. But we offered a much larger room because we need a much larger room and we offered to do that, but they went crazy.
"Trump Won’t Remove Press From White House, But Says He Will Pick Who Gets In"

At his first press conference as president, Trump brought members of his staff into the room to applaud and cheer him while he sneered at the gathered press and attempted to browbeat particular reporters. It looks to me like he's planning on marginalizing the established press that doesn't kowtow to him and replacing many of their reporters with clowns like Alex Jones.

So he's going to slap a 20% tariff on Mexican imports to pay for The Beautiful Wall.

That was my idea.

Before I consider coming back to this site; have any of the Trump supporters, who I've all blocked, come around to their senses, seeing, as we all do, what's happening, and that the 'reasonable' Trump some claimed would crawl majestically out of the shit, hasn't materialised?
