Both look pretty brown to me. You might want to take some introductory biology courses, I don't think you understand the differences between genotype and phenotype. A little education might answer some of the confusion you seem to have around genes and gene expression.

Actually, the Spanish were kicked out of the Philippines by the USA in the Spanish American war of 1898. Since they were permitted no participation in Filipino affairs from 1898 to 1939, it is not really surprising they were not involved after 1945.

An interesting point, the Philippines are impoverished because they are no longer a Spanish colony. But colonial rule just isn't politically correct these days, even when the natives prove themselves incapable.

To be honest, I probably have the advantage on them, because I've been storing water for years.
Firstly my drinking springwater, in the 25 liter containers in my garage, but also, I use an allotment in Gloucester, and there is no water supply there, so I store water there in the big 100 litre industrial plastic barrels. They stand over three feet tall, but I dug them into holes so that kids couldn't come along and tip them over. It takes about half an hour at the most, for those very big barrels to dig a hole two or three feet deep. And when they are full of water, I can guarantee that NO weather would shift them.
To do the same for a twenty litre would take five or ten minutes with a spade.
But, if they've never done it, I guess it wouldn't be so obvious. But this won't be the last typhoon, so maybe next time, some might try it. And there's no reason you couldn't do the same with rice.

Way before WW2, Japan had become an independent, unified, industrialised society. The Philippines had the major disadvantage of being colonised by the Spanish, and afflicted with catholicism...
