People voted against Romney for a good reason, he's just like you.
:drunk: Have another one, Zilla.

Don't worry, you can still think of Obama as the dreamiest President ever. Have you decided whether he wears boxers or briefs? Is he like Clinton on that point, or does he go his own way?

And, here I thought the rise of the oceans had started to slow, and the whole Earth had begun to heal.... I thought we had finally started to care for the sick and to get jobs for the jobless.

I'm finally proud of my nation, because we have fundamentally changed how Washington works. And, we are now lucky enough to have companies like Solyndra leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.

Nah, I just meant that's how I see him personally. The 'hope' people were orgasming over his every word like they were at a Nuremburg rally or something.

Yep, the Repugnicans put up a total asshole and expect the country to just roll over like they did in 2000/2004. We can learn, even if it takes a while.

Well, not CES, but most of us.

Obama's mistakes are not a disappointment to conservatives in the US...

Palin-Ryan 2016!!! :ab:

Obama's not the messiah, he's a politician. But he's not a complete douche like the last couple of guys he ran against. McCain was once respectable, but Palin. Just Palin. IIRC, his numbers went up right after the stock market crashed. When shit got real, the independents thought: " Palin...? :nervous: "

If the GOP wants to beat the next Democrat, they're going to need a moderate conservative who's a bit of an intellectual heavyweight but still has the common touch... and common sense. You're going to be hard pressed to get the Tea Party to back any such candidate. There's some smart people around it, but also a lot of nutjobs, cranks, racists and illiterate angry white people.

And let's not forget the the religious right. Who would Jesus go Galt on? :{D

Yeah, Obama's not as great as some of us hoped, but he hasn't been a complete disaster either.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Let's be honest, the Democrats thought "shit we are in deep shit if we win this election. Two wars, torture, the patriot act and now the economy is falling about our arses, we can't seriously take power, we'll be fucked for decades. Put up a black guy and a chick no one will vote for that."

The Republicans thought. "Shit we've fucked up Caligula style. If we win this election they're going to hang us from lamp-posts and use us like fucking piñata. Put up that geriatric guy and that loony from Alaska, no one will vote for that."

That's my thinking anyway.

I'm just waiting for some supreme court judge like Scalia to die in his sleep. Then we can get on to the business of getting rid of hand guns. As long as we leave you gun nuts some guns each, we are not braking the 2nd.

By far the sweetest are those mistakes that enrage the liberal left, those anti-war and ACLU types. More wars, gitmo still open, and the US spying on everything is their worst nightmare.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
