I waited in line for 3 hours, had a very wonderful time talking and laughing with my friends, making new friends with the people in line around us, and saved $120!Coito ergo sum wrote:I think I'm going to go wait in line for 20 hours to save $100.

...saved $120 off the "regular price" which is $120 higher than the sale price it was marked at 3 days ago, and will be marked at again 3 days from now...Kristie wrote:I waited in line for 3 hours, had a very wonderful time talking and laughing with my friends, making new friends with the people in line around us, and saved $120!Coito ergo sum wrote:I think I'm going to go wait in line for 20 hours to save $100.
...I had a friend just mention that a retailer on a mattress advertised a "special price" about $1500 on a mattress for Black Friday, "marked down" from its original price. Only, she had priced the same mattress 2 weeks ago, and it was actually on sale for around $1200 then. LOL.

That I will never understand.
Going to stores is not enjoyable in the first place. Add crowds to it, and it can only get worse. LOL Fact!

I mean -- come on, lady. You're buying garbage.
Dignity, people. It's priceless.
Really? REALLY???
I bet your kids are fat.

Etymology of the term "Black Friday" in relation to the Christmas shopping season is generally dated to Philadelphia in 1966.Svartalf wrote:What's that 1966 quip?

Re: Black Friday
There was no trampling involved in my Black Friday experience. Shoppers were friendly and actually pointed others towards items they were looking for. I looooove shopping! I rarely buy things for myself, so shopping usually means I'm buying gifts for others, which Akers my happy! Having an excuse to go out with my girls for hours, shopping, talking, laughing.....amazing!
