Censor the names of mass-shooters in the press. Censor their 'manifestos'. The story should never be about them, but their victims.

The manifasto in this case WAS about her hatred directing her choice of victims.

How would anyone have known that this was clearly a hate crime, and what sort, without the manifesto being released?

It is ugly, but so are just about all murders.

I'm game to remove any 'fame' from the killers (such as they do with a lot of gang violence on the national stage in the US), but if knowing about hate crimes is important at all, some of the info needs to be known. Maybe all of it, considering that they hid critical parts of this one, but did not hide similar parts of others.

The larger victims of censorship are the people who are denied information. The direct victims, like Carl Benjamin (or any of the media-smeared whistleblowers), may be easier to point to.
