Re: The Trump Impeachment
Trump, Parnas, Soros and the Deep State:
Parnas said he didn’t have any particular interest in Soros, but got pulled into the conservative lawyers’ allegations. Many of Trump’s thorniest problems, in their view, started with Soros.
“The consensus was that the reason Trump had the Russiagate and everything that was happening was because Soros and the Democrats controlled certain U.S. embassies in Eastern Europe, particularly the Ukrainian one, and were able to help with the Manafort stuff and all other kinds of stuff that basically caused problems in the Trump World,” he said.

Re: The Trump Impeachment
I'm looking forward to a thorough Senate investigation. You Democrats know this isn't going to end well for you, right?
Hunter Biden will be especially amusing witness. Question one, when the last time you did cocaine? And amazingly it will only go downhill from there.
Joe Biden...... I can't imagine he would somehow avoid committing multiple cases of perjury. He's running for President and can't claim senility, but he can't ever seem to get any facts straight.
The Ukranian wonder twins, Colonel traitor and Colonel treason.... will basically admit they worked against Trump's policy. I predict court martial, followed by immigration to Ukraine. After their prison sentence of course.
Fake whistle blower Eric Ciaramella.... I think he will set a record for most pleads the 5th by a 'whistle blower'
Adam Shifty, c'mon down and testify how your people met with fake whistle blower first.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Hunter Biden cannot be forced to testify. Echoing Trump: where is the crime? In Ukraine,? if any!

Only Trump can get his buddy Z in Ukraine to produce "documents" in Ukraine.

Re: The Trump Impeachment
Follow the money. Or airplane. There are flight records of a Trump donor flying Rudy and Parnas together to Ukraine to find dirt:
The messages released on Wednesday suggest that Parnas was receiving at least some support from Sargeant, a Florida-based oil executive and former state Republican Party’s finance chairman, who was funding at least some of Parnas' flights as he assisted Giuliani's efforts abroad.
In a message dated April 10, Parnas asks Sargeant about a trip that "just got canceled, adding that "we have people scheduled to meet on Saturday in Vienna."
"Just becoming expensive flying u guys everywhere LEV," Sargeant replied
Parnas subsequently told Sargeant that "we" are paying him back for the flights and that he was “never expecting [Sargeant] to pay for it." According to House investigators, Parnas flew to Ukraine four days after this conversation.
In another message, Parnas asks Sargeant to “approve” for his associate named Dave “to pay for car service on cc [credit card],” saying he got a “deal” from “Rudy’s guys” on lodging and taxis.
Sargeant – an ultra-wealthy energy mogul -- replies, “Don’t bother w this stuff pls.”
It also remains unclear how involved Sargeant was in directing Parnas’s efforts, though text messages between the two men suggest Sargeant was aware of Parnas’s activities. At one point, Parnas invited Sargeant to meet him in Ukraine, to which Sargeant responded, “I could leave Thur and be there Friday maybe.” Parnas then said, “I think first Vienna and than Ukraine.”

Re: The Trump Impeachment
I question whether the $500,000 payment made from Parnas's company to Giuliani is irrelevant to all of this. At least in the material I've seen coming from him, there's been nothing said about it. Most likely that's because the crimes he's accused of consist mostly of acting as a conduit for illicit foreign campaign donations, and the $500,000 could be an issue in the case. So his lawyer told him and the people who got interviews with him: Yes he can talk, but don't say anything about money.

Ah, but the difference there is if Trump tried to hang himself in his cell he'd probably bring the ceiling down.

Trump wouldn't know how to tie the knot, but Giuliani could help him. Giuliani could tie the knot with his tongue.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 9:25 pmAh, but the difference there is if Trump tried to hang himself in his cell he'd probably bring the ceiling down.![]()

Re: The Trump Impeachment
Moscow Mitch willattempt to dismiss the articles:
The Hill
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is expected to present a resolution that will allow President Trump's legal counsel to motion to immediately dismiss the impeachment charges during the Senate impeachment trial that starts, in earnest, Tuesday.
"I am familiar with the resolution as it stood a day or two ago," Hawley told the news source.
My understanding is that the resolution will give the president's team the option to either move to judgment or to move to dismiss at a meaningful time," the junior senator continued.
Hawley also said that he would be "very, very surprised" if the final resolution didn't give Trump's lawyers that ability and that he might not vote for it.

Re: The Trump Impeachment
I do not get this argument. When would an impeachment ever be invalid?
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump- ... ticles.amp
If you get the house to vote on it, no matter how badly they understand high crimes and misdemeanors, it is always legal to vote on it. That is their job. It is then the job of the senate to vote on whether the blow job related obstruction or quid pro quo qualifies. And it is not the job of defense lawyers to interpret the constitution. This is not that court.
Of course, they will come out and say that, but only to Trump base. Roberts should cut them off.

Re: The Trump Impeachment
It is a long read but the GOP tie to Firtash is clear. Does not implicate Trump but does tie in with Putin and Russia:
oligarch’s background demands their consideration.
Dmytro Firtash’s work in Ukraine undermined that nation’s democracy. He spent hundreds of millions of dollars entrenching the forces of kleptocracy. His machinations kept the country locked in Russia’s orbit. That he may have been involved in spreading disinformation about Biden for the sake of avoiding extradition is the most important allegation from Lev Parnas’s trail of cable-news interviews. It suggests that he may have attempted to reprise his past work on

Reading that filing, I'd have thought they hired 42 to write it, except that it was too short. "Constitutionally invalid" is just the sort of legal sounding made-up nonsense I'd expect from him.Tero wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 3:17 pmI do not get this argument.
