I'll grant that the claims of Ms Ford haven't met a criminal standard of evidence - it wasn't a prosecution - but at the same time her testimony and his partisan reaction to the committee would be enough for me to look for another candidate. But you're right - the Senate does as the Senate will.laklak wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 6:55 pmAnd is that proper? Should unsupported allegations be sufficient to deny confirmation? In a perfectly perfect world where everybody told the truth then yes, it should be sufficient. But in this one, peopled by political garbage drippings like the U.S. Senate, I just don't know.
Fuck it, what I think is irrelevant, won't change a thing. They're going to do what they're going to do, and devil take the hindmost.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Did she? On 13 Sept she said her office had received information of concern regarding Mr Kavanaugh from an individual who wanted to remain anonymous and had passed it to the FBI, but she categorically stated in the hearings that she didn't leak that information to the press. I guess her denial is proof of her complicity, eh?Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 6:13 pm
Didn't she sit on the info awhile, timing things to interrupt late? Didn't she (her office) leak the letter from Ford to the press?
[/quote]
Her denial doesn't reveal the fact about how the leak occurred. It would be highly advantageous to her, politically, if it were leaked.
If her denial is believable to you, why isn't Kavanaugh's?

Ah, so it wasn't them, it was their 'affiliate', called 'Planned Parenthood Votes'. That doesn't smell to me, a normal person. Nope, they are as separate as Bell and Bell Mobility. No connection whatsoever.Seabass wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 4:55 pmThat's right-wing disinformation.

I bet they have tax lawyers and accountants ensuring they stay just this side of the law.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Onion's Mark Judge: ...said a visibly pissed-off Judge, adding that he couldn’t fathom handing over a lifetime appointment to America’s highest judicial body to “some candy-ass dipshit” who couldn’t remember important things like the fact that everyone knows the Devil’s Triangle “is not some dumb drinking game—it’s a fuckin’ threesome with two dudes on one chick. It’s awesome.” “Jesus Christ, I’ve never been so disappointed in someone. I mean, I knew Brett was a puker, but I simply can’t accept the possibility that he blacked out from drinking ’skis so many times that he forgot that boofing is taking beer up the ass. He said it’s about farting? Come the fuck on, dude—we used to boof all the time! Man, all of America was watching, and he totally pussied out. Honestly, I’m ashamed to say I was his friend.” Judge added that he hoped that further investigations into Kavanaugh could allow the nominee to prove his truthfulness by vouching for the time they were in a threesome at a party and their dicks accidentally touched..

Back to reality.
The dick waggler can't remember:
I definitely saw him on multiple occasions stumbling drunk where he could not have rational control over his actions or clear recollection of them,” said Daniel Lavan, who lived in Mr. Kavanaugh’s dorm freshman year. “His depiction of himself is inaccurate.”

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
What's going on in government while everyone is watching the sex show?
Re: Kavanaugh hearing
It might be disinformation, but it seems it will be decided by judges. Men and women like Kavanaugh and Feinstein.
I'm sure it will come out as fair and honest as all the players involved.
Why the FUCK is a womans right to choose balanced on a not-for-profit anyway? Shouldn't it rest safely in legal precedent?

I guess it depend on whether you think a right to individual bodily autonomy is a fundamental human right or matter for elected legislators.

Looks like we have to endure this vile spectacle of craven venality for at least another week.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
