Congress is busy throwing money at us. The president has a number in mind, then Mitch and pals, as much as they still can, try to divert money from workers to employers.

Biden and the Democrats are advocating for more spending.
At the time the Democrats agreed that the government couldn't afford it. They seem to have changed their minds.
She also repeated the idea that the government stopped short of giving enough during Obama's administration which stalled that recovery.Janet Yellen told lawmakers Tuesday that help for the unemployed and small businesses would provide the “biggest bang for the buck” as she made the case for President-elect Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief plan.

Republicans much more so than Democrats, and those are the only two options for government in the USA.

In this episode, we begin by discussing some of the Biden administration’s early policy decisions: shutting down DAPL, rejoining the Paris Agreement on Climate, and affirming the rights of trans people (and in so doing putting the rights of women at risk)
I won't try to paraphrase, the topics are too controversial for me to navigate here. Good for you for giving them a try though. Maybe they aren't as interesting as I thought.

Giving money to Africa is your duty, as you stole a whole lot of our people to pick cotton.

You misunderstood my post. I expressed my dislike of being told that someone has "GREAT insights", then being expected to find them in a 90 minute podcast.Cunt wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 7:20 amIf you didn't like it, you didn't like it.Hermit wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 2:09 amCan we have a condensed version? Something I've noticed about the Loony Right. They don't seem to be able to get to the point, it appears to be that the one set of brain cells can't find the other ones.

They are unable to understand what is being said. They only recognize some words or phrases that are said now and then and spend the rest of the time masturbating to an alleged left-winger saying controversial things.

You'll need a functioning legislature first.laklak wrote:I think we need to rein in this executive order shite, I can't find any constitutional support for most of what Trumpy did or Biden is doing. He's not a fucking Emperor, not that you'd know it.

Aye. They often dance around the point or adopt a kind of coded language - such as not appearing to be bigotted or racist by talking about 'our people' or 'our community' or 'Western civilization' or 'Judeo-Christian' or 'traditional' values etc.rainbow wrote:Something I've noticed about the Loony Right. "Often" being an important qualifier.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 10:38 amAye. Forestalling the demand to define "left" and "right" and the objection that those pigeonholes are irrelevant these days, I would like to point out that not all right wing loonies are racists and not all racists are right wing loonies. Also, that not all loonies are right wing.

I think we talk about 'people with a mental health diagnosis' rather than 'loonies' these days.

A popularly applied use for 'loonies' is as a synonym for "people who disagree with my views".Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:17 amI think we talk about 'people with a mental health diagnosis' rather than 'loonies' these days.![]()
