The Ruger 10/22 is the best .22 rifle I've ever owned. Never had a Ruger handgun, as far as I can recall, but I'd be surprised if they weren't of similar quality. What bad experience did you have with them, Pord?

Way past time if you ask me...or if you don't.
This thread and the two previous have gone on too damn long.

No they haven't, you've just been boringly pedantic and your off-topic bloviations have been nothing more than a deliberate distraction from the OP. You should have checked out long ago. In fact, you never should have checked in because everything you've written is crapola and a deliberate attempt to derail the OP>
I have already had to repeat each of my arguments about three times,
It doesn't matter how many times you repeat crapola and lies, they remain crapola and lies, and your mendacious and juvenile dismissal of anything that doesn't fit your agenda is not the sign of a superior intellect.
and gun lovers simply come back to repeating the claims I have already debunked.
Mouthing Handgun Control and other hoplophobe propaganda isn't debunking anything.
A man can get sick of that sort of thing.

A man, or a woman, can also get sick of your pettifoggery and bloviation. I did long ago.
I am not going to convince anyone with an emotional fixation of murder tools.
And we're not going to be convinced by a nitwit with an emotional fixation on specious and irrelevant anti-gun propaganda.
So, thanks to those who were courteous, and a very firm curse to those who were not.
And screw you and the horse you rode in on. You were NEVER interested in a genuine honest debate, you came to derail the thread with your pet circumlocutions and mindless drivel and you've failed in your attempt.

Your religious fervor on the subject of gun suicides is every bit as annoying and pointless as any charismatic pentacostal Christian's religious fervor over speaking in tongues and casting out of demons.

They molestered me when I was a boy.

Poor quality control. You never know from one Ruger to the next if you're getting a reliable, quality, product. They have the advantage of being cheap though. For a .22 I'll stick with my Marlin with microgroove rifling.

Hmm. My Marlin .22 sucked balls. Kept fouling and jamming after not very many rounds. I guess that just goes to show something.

That it wasn't well maintained? It was in poor condition? Dunno.

If you're trying to compare Ruger and Marlin.. Ruger isn't even in the same league. To make an analogy, Marlin plays Pro and Ruger plays Junior A.

Maybe that depends somewhat on the particular product. Everybody has some low-end merchandise. Maybe that's what I had. And I did get it second-hand, so maybe the previous owner didn't maintain it properly. Can't remember the model. It was a few decades ago and I got rid of it pretty quickly.

I should say Marlin just changed their manufacturing process - every firearm produced in the last year by Marlin had to be attended to by a gunsmith. Some say these firearms are of spectacular quality as a result, others say that because Marlin has switched from milled to stamped parts that they're shit, but better than the shit that'll be produced from now on.

People do stupid things all the time, and more children die from drowning in five gallon buckets and bathtubs than from accidental gunshot wounds.

One does have to be careful with guns around kids, but that's no reason to ban guns.

Sounds like its possible that the woman may have done more than simply "exchange words" with the disabled man. We'll have to wait and see what the evidence shows, because he may have been justified in shooting her based on her actions and his fear for his safety.
