But but Trump! Musk is on your side! Why are you not promoting his truck? Plus we could burn coal to make electricity! Trump just hates electricity. And magnets.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was confronted by a CBS host over the Biden administration’s aggressive electric vehicle (EV) push.

Buttigieg responded to repeated attacks by former President Trump, who claimed President Biden is spending billions of federal dollars on an unpopular car.

"You notice he’s trying to save the electric vehicle but not the gas powered which is the vehicle everybody wants. They’re going crazy with the electric car, costing us a fortune. We’re spending hundreds of billions of dollars subsidizing a car nobody wants and nobody is ever going to buy," Trump said.

"He’s not wrong on the purchasing," CBS anchor Margaret Brennen told Buttigieg during a Sunday interview on "Face the Nation."

"He’s not," Brennen pushed back. "Of the 4 million vehicles purchased, 269,000 electric vehicles were sold in the U.S. Market. It’s up like 2%."

"Every single year more Americans buy EVs than the year before," he insisted.

Later on, Brennen confronted Buttigieg on the lack of progress regarding EV charging stations throughout the country.

"The Federal Highway Administration says only seven or eight charging stations have been produced with a $7.5 billion investment that taxpayers made back in 2021. Why isn’t that happening more quickly?" Brennen asked.

Trump has pawned his airplane. He pays 90 000 in legal fees every day.
Per the news outlet, "Federal Aviation Administration records show that on May 13, the aircraft’s registration changed from the Trump Organization’s DT Air Corp to a Texas entity called MM Fleet Holdings LLC. State records tie that company to Mehrdad Moayedi, an Iranian-American construction and development tycoon who lives near Dallas and runs Centurion American Custom Homes."

Defense up today. Lawyer plays nice.

Todd Blanche is up for Defense Closing:
He says he hopes that they had a nice weekend. He then thanks for jury for their service (ME: which is true and nice, but is not a very powerful way of beginning a Closing Argument).

BLANCHE: This case is about documents. It's a paper case. This case is not about an encounter with Stormy Daniels 18 years ago; an encounter that Trump has unequivocally denied occurred. It's not about a confidential settlement or a NDA that was signed nearly 8 years ago.

The reason you all are here is whether and to what extent Trump, while he was living in the White House, had anything to do with how payments to Michael Cohen were booked on his personal accounting ledger at the time.

Prosecution wrapping up. There is no court tomorrow. It will end and go to jury Thu.
STEINGLASS: At that Aug 2015 meeting at TT, the prism you should analyze the evidence in this case: three rich powerful men high up in TT trying to become even more powerful trying to control the flow of information to voters.

The key components of agreement: to accentuate the positive. To promote campaign without endorsing Trump - by colluding with campaign to manufacture favorable content - outside normal press function. They even gave advance copies. Second, to publish stories attacking the defendant’s political opponents.

Trump says we are done. Where is my 2nd passport?
On Sunday, Donald Trump posted video of a man raging and cursing uncontrollably at MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough outside what appears to be an airport in New York. This generated a flurry of attention on social media, with some pointing out that Trump’s fury at Scarborough has a history dating back to the Morning Joe host’s public turning against Trump, which includes Trump falsely suggesting Scarborough murdered a young MSNBC intern.

Scarborough and the whole Morning Joe crew have been stern Trump critics for years, but I’d like to focus on something beyond Scarborough here: the video’s declaration that if Trump wins the presidency, “liberals” are “done.”

One last thing before the jury deliberates
A critical moment will take place, perhaps Wednesday morning, before the jury begins its deliberations.

Judge Juan M. Merchan is expected to spend about an hour instructing the jury on the law governing the case, providing a roadmap for what it can and cannot take into account as it evaluates the Republican former president's guilt or innocence.

Politico runs story where...once again...ll the facts are gaulty polls and this crap:
“New York Democrats need to wake up,” said Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine. “The number of people in New York, including people of color that I come across who are saying positive things about Trump, is alarming.”

Even if you weren't naturally believing in the deep state the trial certainly looks like there's one in action.

If the notes coming from the jury are any indication, the jury appears interested in the details of what Pecker said.
The first excerpt the jury requested was Pecker’s testimony about a June 2016 phone call he received from Trump while he was meeting with investors in New Jersey.

On Tuesday, in his closing argument, prosecutor Joshua Steinglass highlighted that phone call as evidence that Trump knew about and had direct involvement in the scheme to "catch and kill" negative stories about him during the 2016 campaign. On the call, Steinglass said, Trump and Pecker discussed buying the rights to Karen McDougal’s story, and Trump told him that Michael Cohen would follow up about finalizing the deal. McDougal is the former Playboy model who alleged she had an affair with Trump.

“This call makes it impossible for the defense to claim that Cohen was acting on his own,” Steinglass said in his closing.

The jury also requested Pecker’s testimony about his decision to pull the plug on assigning McDougal’s “life rights” — her story about having sex with Trump — to a shell company controlled by Cohen.

Steinglass also raised this in his closing argument as evidence that the scheme was a crime. The prosecutor told jurors that Pecker pulled out of the deal at the last minute after speaking with American Media Inc.’s general counsel.

“He runs that by his general counsel and his general counsel says, 'No, don't do that,'” the prosecutor said.

Finally, the jury requested testimony from both Cohen and Pecker about a critical piece of evidence: the 2015 Trump Tower meeting where Cohen, Pecker and Trump allegedly cooked up the scheme to help Trump's campaign by using the National Enquirer to publish negative stories about Trump's opponents while burying negative stories about Trump himself.

The meeting is at the heart of prosecutors' allegation that Trump directed the alleged conspiracy. It was at the meeting that Pecker agreed to be the “eyes and ears” for the Trump campaign and notify Michael Cohen about any potential negative stories about the candidate that were “on the market.”

Elsewhere:
is it the "he didn't do it" version of witch hunt
or "he did it but it's not a crime" version of witch hunt?

because trump is on the "i did it and it was a crime but i should be able to commit crimes if i want to" version of witch hunt.
