Malaria is a bacterial disease. There are no studies, just anecdotal stories. I am not opposed to it. It should be studied like all the other possible medications. I am opposed to a head of state claiming one drug was a miracle cure without having any evidence to back that up.

We're not letting them in, DeSantis evidently has enough of his scrot left not to bend over for this. They're not U.S. flagged ships, let them go to Liberia or Bahamas or Panama or whatever cheap-ass flag of convenience they're flying. They want to change to U.S. flag, employ U.S. merchant marine, pay U.S. marine union wages, pay U.S. taxes, and abide by U.S. maritime regulations (and inspections!), then they have a right to use U.S. ports. Washington(CNN) The commander of a US aircraft carrier that has been hit by a major outbreak of coronavirus has been relieved of command days after writing a memo warning Navy leadership that decisive action was needed to save the lives of the ship's crew, acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly announced on Thursday.

The outbreak on the ship is escalating rapidly.

Last week the Pentagon confirmed three sailors on the Roosevelt had tested positive and that number had risen to 25 two days later. That number rose to at least 70 on Tuesday and over 100 on Thursday.

The US Navy has fired the captain of an aircraft carrier who faced a growing outbreak of the new coronavirus on his ship, saying he created a panic by sending his memo pleading for help to too many people.

In a four-page memo to Navy leaders, the captain of the nuclear-powered warship said the spread of the disease was ongoing and accelerating, and said that removing all but 10 per cent of the crew was a "necessary risk" in order to stop the spread of the virus.

Navy Secretary Thomas Modly said the ship's commander Brett Crozier "demonstrated extremely poor judgment" in the middle of a crisis.

He said the captain copied too many people on the memo, which was leaked to a California newspaper and quickly spread to many news outlets.

Captain Crozier will be removed from his post, but will keep his rank and remain in the Navy, Mr Modly said.

OK, that seems to be the reason, but surely there should be questions raised about the port call in Vietnam earlier...
