Sore winner at it again

First google hit:
Trump misleadingly claimed that Clinton “accepted $58,000 in jewelry from the government of Brunei when she was secretary of state.” He didn’t mention that the gift was accepted on behalf of the United States, and that it was transferred to the General Services Administration.

Re: The suzerain Trump
Trump's pick for Secretary of Education's hearing is some scary shit. This woman wants to use public funds to put into the hands of private school interests, many supporting a Christian education where creationism is taught, clearly with the objective of developing some sort of American theocracy further down the line. She also, like Trump, thinks that gun free zones around schools should be ended.

But sure, Trump fans, let's keep pretending that everything is going to be alright under his twisted administration. Let's just give him a chance.
Amiright?

DeVos doesn't have a clue what she's doing.

Re: The suzerain Trump
LOL - the name of the video is "DeVos Cannot Answer Sen. Kain's Yes or No Questions" and the first question posed to her she answers "Yes..." and explains her answer. His questions are bogus. The first question is "Do you think that all schools receiving public funds should meet the same accountability standards?" She said "yes," (at 17 seconds) and then explained that CURRENTLY there are different standards between traditional public schools and Charter schools. And, he cuts her off, and says "...but I'm really interested in this...should everyone be on a level playing field" which is a question to which he didn't want an answer, because he just moved on to another question. Nevertheless, she answered the question. His question was a "gotcha" type question, which she fielded reasonably.
His next question is "So, public, charter or private K-12 schools, if they receive taxpayer funds, should meet the same accountability standards?" And her answer was "Yes, they should be very transparent with the information and parents should have that information first and foremost.
Next, "...and if confirmed will you insist upon that accountability in any school or K-12 program that receives federal funds...?" She said she believes in accountability. He pushed on the gotcha line, and he demanded that she answer this "I believe that all schools public, private or charter should meet the same accountability standards?" And, she said "no" because "they're not" currently treated that way. And, he said "I think they should be" do you agree with me? And, she said "no" because they aren't currently -- under the 8 years of the Obama administration, treated the same (public schools are treated one way, charter another ,and private another). So, she's saying that she isn't going to necessarily change the status quo from what it is now. He then says "so your answer is no..." and moves on.
His questioning is patently dishonest, and attempt to get a soundbite that "DeVos doesn't think all students in public, private and charter schools should meet the same accountability standards" even when they currently don't all have the same standards, because they're different types of schools.
The last two questions he asked are complex issues of law -- whether all the schools should comply with certain federal law requirements, etc. These are not easy questions ,and Kaine tries to boil it down "yes" or "no" and when she answers "that's an issue I look forward to looking at closely" it's not, as he characterized it, a refusal to answer the question. She doesn't know right now, and she looks forward to looking at the issue closely. that's not unreasonable. A candidate for the office of Secretary of Education never comes to that position with a complete understanding of applicable federal, state, local and city/town laws, regulations, ordinances, and how they interrelate.
I can't see how anyone could come away from that clip thinking anything other than DeVos gave him reasonable answers, and he came across like douche nozzle.

Re: The suzerain Trump
What he should have done was forego the pop-and-circumstance. He should have said we have a lot of work to do. I'm going to authorize a short, simple ceremony where I take the oath of office. He should go to the Capitol building and be introduced to the House of Representatives and the Senate in a brief, subdued formal introduction. He should then move to an appropriate site for the swearing in, and take the oath of office. He should then go right to the west wing, sit down and get to work.
I am not a fan of this celebrity song-and-dance, formal celebration ball. It's gaudy and wasteful.
