I didn't believe the story of the pulley, or the drilling of holes, to start with.
You don't need pulleys to hang yourself. So I don't find the lack of holes surprising in the least.
How do we know that that was in the police report?
Who's word are we taking for that? The writer of the article, the family, or some intermediary.
Someone is inventing somewhere. I'm sure the Singapore police or security services could do better than that cock and bull story, so I really doubt that this story is being reported truly.
Why the fuck, would they invent holes in the wall that aren't there? If you were going to make a murder look like suicide, that would be just about the most ridiculous thing to do. And if you did, why wouldn't you get a drill, and drill some?
I smell a rat from the family side.

Re: Put your tin hats on ....
About a decade ago, my uncle was living in Ireland, he was having a terrible time with his Girlfriend and her awful family and called my mother in tears saying he'd had enough and was coming home, could she put him up until he found a flat of his own back in Glasgow. He bought himself a ticket for the ferry packed his bags in his car and was found by police dead in his car. Apparently he had drank a bottle of spirits (I can't recall whether it was whisky or vodka) and gassed himself. He was 31 years old and practically my brother. My family were bewildered, shocked and came up with all sorts of theories given his behaviour prior to his suicide, especially since it was hinted that his Girlfriends family were involved with some shady "paramilitary" gangster fucks.
It was a family trying to cope with an outrageous trauma as best they can. I think this is similar. So I can't really get enthused about such conspiracy theories, though I don't discount the possibility. Sometimes people do odd and fatal things.

Now that you mention it, I'd bet the police were not fluent in English, and the family was not fluent in Chinese. That leaves a lot of scope for those details to be gained in translation.mistermack wrote:Why the fuck, would they invent holes in the wall that aren't there?
