Dood. No camera technology is going to change the physics of light. Multi-focus means within the existing depth of field, not beyond it. On the same focal plane. The only one that's possible to manipulate due to the laws of physics. I have a pretty cutting-edge camera and it has no function whatsoever that can simultaneously focus fore- and background images with a fast shutter speed. It just don't work that way.Scrumple wrote:Modern cameras are multi-focus and produce a nuanced depth of field. Just saying that doesn't appear to be the case here and is reminiscent of a known journalistic technique for artificially rendering a depth of field effect in sporting events.

Still looks too uniform with the blur and rather added on.

Well, everything in the background would be uniform if it were all at about the same distance from the lens/sensor. The only way to get something reasonably sharp in both fore- and background is to use a narrow aperture which extends the shutter speed beyond that required to get something as fast as a shotgun blast:Scrumple wrote:Still looks too uniform with the blur and rather added on.

If you want a fast shutter speed, you have to open the aperture as wide as possible, which gives you a very shallow depth of field. Notice how the features only a millimeter or so behind the focal point in this image quickly blur:

They took a genuine picture of him actually shooting a shotgun. Then they shooped in some defects to make it look fake in order to portray those who obsess over these kinds of photos as a bunch of loonies that obsess over irrelevant bullshit that nobody much cares about.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
