I do think there is denial from those not preparing for the coming catastrophe. The fact is the USA on its own will rapidly devolve into a number of fragmentary states and this will happen after the dollar crash. Social strife is a certainty and many on the liberal left of democratic politics have had it 'good' for so long that the mere idea of standing in a food line will turn them into a 'falling down' type monster, and this will come in millions all at once.
