Re: Vote on Palestinian Statehood Looms
Coming from someone who thinks that Al Qaeta just started planning the 9/11 attack on the WTC after Bush announced his administration's policy on the Israel-Palestine issue.... lol... right...sometime between February, 2001 and August, 2001 - that's what caused the WTC to become a target.....you're a joke, mistermack.mistermack wrote:Coito, you're so full of shit, it has to be deliberate.
Go visit alternet again or read another David Corn article. They'll tell you what to believe.mistermack wrote: It's not even amusing shit. If you actually believe it, I'm sorry for you.
Learn some basic history. Yours doesn't even seem to get past 9/11/01. Do they have schools where you grew up?mistermack wrote: If you don't, I'm really really sorry for you.
.
EDIT: And another thing, it's YOUR FUCKING COUNTRY that created the whole mess in the first place. It's Britain that created Transjordan, and it's Britain that created Iraq, and, oh, yeah, the French - they created Lebanon - and Israel, of course, was created also out of the British mandate. It's your folks who set this whole thing in motion. But, it makes your childish heart feel so much better to blame everything in the world on the US. If it makes you feel better, have at it. But, maybe take some responsibility yourself, and petition your own fucking government to take an interest in what it fucking created in the first place.

You amaze me. You are proposing that the world's greatest superpower can't do more than one thing at a time. And I think you mean it !!!Warren Dew wrote:George Bush had a road map to Palestinian statehood and was holding the Israelis to it until Afghanistan and Iraq took over all his foreign policy attention and Israel started building settlements again.mistermack wrote:When George Bush got in, and said that he was leaving the "Palestinian problem" to the Israelis and Palestinians, he in effect said "fuck the Palestinian".
Israel is building settlements. What can the US do? I can't think of a single thing. They seem to be completely powerless.
Or maybe they like settlements. Or maybe they've done backroom deals, and settlements were a swap for dollars and votes.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Coito, the reason I was rude was that I don't mind a little crap, but you are delivering truckloads, there is so much of it.
I don't mind a couple of points, but you seem to think that sheer volume has some sort of merit.
I can't be assed, it's all crap. It was tiresome reading through it, and it's not worth the effort of correcting it. With those blinkers on, you wouldn't see it anyway.

Just saying, "what you say is crap/bullshit" is just that crap/bullshit. It's nothing. It's a non-issue. It's white noise.
Don't correct it all - just correct a couple of items - the biggest chunks of crap. That shouldn't be so hard for someone as evidently intelligent and well-informed as yourself....

That isn't what he said.
Do you have any evidence for your alleged swap for dollars and votes? Or, is this a function of your view that "the Jews control the media and the government?"

Not worth it. I've seen you virtually swear that black is white on this site, it's either a full set of blinkers, or you're taking the piss.
Either way, it don't stimulate me. It's tiresome.
Whether I agree with someone or not, one or two points that make me think are much appreciated.
Truckloads of regurgitated propaganda are not.

Show me where I've sworn that "black is white" on this site (literally or metaphorically). You won't, because you can't. What you really mean is that I've said something you disagree with, but can't actually oppose rationally, and therefore you just say something to the effect of "can't be arsed."

Re black is white, I wish I'd kept it now.
I know it took my breath away at the time. I think you probably remember it.
If you want one example of what's wrong with your truckload of garbage, here it is.
You trumpet the planning of 911 as pre-dating George Bush, as some sort of proof that what Bush said had no effect. What bollocks.
These people are full of plans. They make them all the time. They do little else. Plans mean nothing. What percentage of plans get carried out?
To destroy the trade centre, real people had to plot their own deaths. They had to agree to kill themselves, if successful, or to undergo a lifetime of mental and physical misery, if they failed.
They had to go all the way, from saying they'd do it, to actually steering their plane into a skyscraper at hundreds of miles per hour.
Osama and his men could hide away and plot all they liked, but it took the words of George Bush to create the anger that made people be prepared to actually do it.
Without that anger, it would have just remained a plan, one of many.
I would have thought that you could have worked that out for yourself. But as I said, all you see is headlines.
You seem incapable thinking for yourself. You need to be fed your thoughts in government handouts.

Re: Vote on Palestinian Statehood Looms
I wonder how much better things would have been for the Palestinians today had there not been dancing in the street after 9-11...
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The huge party they threw after the Reichstag burning didn't help them much either.mistermack wrote:I'm sure the jews would have been better off if they'd voted for Hitler.Robert_S wrote:I wonder how much better things would have been for the Palestinians today had there not been dancing in the street after 9-11...

You said that his position on the Palestinian issue cause the WTC to be targeted. It didn't. That target was picked pre-Bush.mistermack wrote:Re black is white, I wish I'd kept it now.

This might be your problem. An inability to comprehend.
Your straw man is bollocks. Moreover, very little that Bush did was any different from the previous administration between the months of February and August. Please, by all means, point to what Bush said in those 6 months pre-9/11 that you think made all the difference.mistermack wrote: What bollocks.
I don't know. You tell me. Many plans have been carried out or attempted. They blew up our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania - they hit the USS Cole - they bombed the Khobar Towers - they bombed the WTC in 1993 - just to name a few. What percentage those represent concerning the number of total plans they thought about is anybody's guess. I'm sure you'll claim to have inside knowledge, though.mistermack wrote:

Which is exactly why it was years in the planning - and it wasn't a target picked in a month or a few months prior to 9/11/01, and would have happened whether Bush was President or not. It was being planned under Clinton.mistermack wrote:

Those people were training for it before January, 2001, when Bush took office. Only a fucking complete and utter moron thinks that "it took the words of George Bush" to anger these folks enough to do it. Christ on a bicycle, man. You actually think the attacks would not have occurred if Bush said something different?mistermack wrote:

Oh, and please - what words? Show me some examples of what you think set them off - a statement between January, 2001 and August, 2001. I would imagine it would have had to be February or March, right? If it was some statement in July or August, 2001, I think even you might think a 9/11 deadline for the hit would be cutting it a little tight....lol .... I can't even believe you're making this argument. It's downright silly.
You think it was Bush that set them off. The 1998 Declaration of War by Al Qaeta? Just blustering. 300 people dead in Kenya and Tanzania? Child's play. Americans killed in the USS Cole? Bah! Just a flesh wound. Americans killed in 1993 in the WTC bombing? They were probably Joos, right? And, the Khobar Towers? And...? And?mistermack wrote: Without that anger, it would have just remained a plan, one of many.
If by thinking for myself, you mean "making stupid shit up and coming up with ridiculous ideas backed up by nothing but supposition" - yeah - I try to avoid that.mistermack wrote:
