They are an example of how people tend to get estimations spectacularly out of kilter with reality. Brian Peacock just cited the popular misapprehension regarding crime rates. Another example is how people imagine a great danger of "the great replacement" and that idea is actively propagated by a whole slew of right wing pundits.Cunt wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 6:34 pmthe farther Left you are, the higher the number of victims you choose. . . Damn that foxitis! Gives you a nasty rash between the ears.

'Capitol Riot Defendant Blames "Foxitis"'
In the six months leading up to the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Anthony Antonio spent his days watching Fox News — a habit that made him ill, his attorney told a federal magistrate judge on Thursday. His ailment? "Foxitis," his attorney said. "He became hooked with what I call ... 'Foxmania.' " In the virtual hearing, which went awry when another alleged Capitol rioter interrupted with obscenities, Antonio's attorney, Joseph Hurley, claimed that Fox News's decision to air then-President Trump's false claims of mass election fraud contributed to Antonio's decision to participate in the insurrection.
Antonio "started believing what was being fed to him," Hurley said. Critics have targeted Fox for giving a platform for Trump and his allies to elevate baseless claims about the election, many of which were later echoed by Trump supporters who invaded the Capitol. Fox News also faces billion-dollar lawsuits from voting technology companies Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic, which allege the network knowingly aired false claims that the voting machines were rigged, the Washington Post reports. Antonio, 27, who turned himself in to police on April 20, is charged with unlawful and violent entry of the Capitol, police obstruction and destruction of government property, according to an arrest warrant. During his hearing Thursday, Hurley told U.S. Magistrate Judge Robin Meriweather that Antonio had lost his job thanks to the pandemic and moved in with new roommates in Chicago. It was only then that he began watching Fox News religiously, according to Hurley, because his roommates frequently watched the network.

Still just that one insurrection huh?
All the other attacks on federal buildings, infrastructure and individuals just don't count. It's almost as if there is a bias somewhere...

Re: Media Bias
It's the only one the media thinks matters.
When I want to consider tolerance of media and their bias, I just look at how they treat stories that conflict with the propaganda they have agreed to push.
Like when a high-level athlete, who is a trans person, speaks clearly and honestly about girls in sport.
It's amusing to see them trip over themselves. Sarah Silverman was particularly viscious. I wonder what her experience with sport is?
Did Silverman compete at anything athletic? Or is she an aging has-been who is desperately trying to stay relevant by speaking out ignorantly against sports professionals?

Re: Media Bias
I think the disagreement (and professional qualifications) between those two should be highlighted, because it shows that, no matter how cute Silverman is, she is a disgusting old politician, first of all.
Re: Media Bias
Caitlyn Jenner didn't play sports as a trans woman, so I don't give her career in men's sports any weight.
What's her reasoning? What evidence supports it?
BTW, I looked Silverman up. She's not a politician.

Re: Media Bias
So being so good you can beat the world in ten different disciplines doesn't count as 'sports specialization'?
lol you so cute
She isn't very knowledgeable about that OR sports. She used to do comedy, but now only seems to do the bidding of politicians.
What's her reasoning? What evidence supports it?
BTW, I looked Silverman up. She's not a politician.
Like scrambling to pretend that a sport specialist doesn't know anything about sport.
Bet you have as little experience with sport as Silverman. Compared to Jenner, you two should probably fact-check yourself about sport before you sound stupid.
Oh, and add to that the undeniable sensitivity to trans issues, and you have an opinion which is worth MUCH more than either kind of specialist alone.
Of course, I understand Silverberg grunts and whinges about how wrong it all is, but that's how a lot of folks deal with reality.
Can't watch the video, but it has seemed the media bias would be in favour of one team.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:03 pmBBC and CNN bias exposed - on Israel and Palestine...
Did they take the 'precision strike' side? Or the side of the 'bomb any target even if there is a hospital' side?
