Sure. But right or wrong, I'm unable to ignore remaining friends with the guy and partying with him for 20 years. When you throw in Trump's personality and other legal troubles any defense is likely to be necessarily crazier than the accusations (eg he was really working undercover  ).

well, crazy defenses are nothing new in the US justice system, I hear some of them even worked...
I'd still like to see real world applications of the wookie defence, though

Quite often the unreliable witnesses give too much detail. Some detail does not fit in. They had Trump and Epstein bury some girls in a golf course. Only...he did not own the golf course the year the girls disappeared.

Kristi Noem not fired yet
I have instructed Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various poorly run Democrat Cities with regard to their Protests and/or Riots unless, and until, they ask us for help. We will, however, guard, and very powerfully so, any and all Federal Buildings that are being attacked by these highly paid Lunatics, Agitators, and Insurrectionists. Please be aware that I have instructed ICE and/or Border Patrol to be very forceful in this protection of Federal Government Property. There will be no spitting in the faces of our Officers, there will be no punching or kicking the headlights of our cars, and there will be no rock or brick throwing at our vehicles, or at our Patriot Warriors.
No confirmation if Trump went to FL.

What about the Capitol, surely attacks against the Capitol are allowed! (stating the obvious again and again would be boring if we weren't so angry)

There need to be real consequences for the Republican Party for allowing this.

Democrat Taylor Rehmet wins a reliably Republican Texas state Senate seat, stunning GOP
Democrat Taylor Rehmet won a special election for the Texas state Senate on Saturday, flipping a reliably Republican district that President Donald Trump won by 17 points in 2024.

Rehmet, a labor union leader and veteran, easily defeated Republican Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist, in the Fort Worth-area district. With almost all votes counted, Rehmet had a comfortable lead of more than 14 percentage points.

She was happy to have Trump's endorsement, and in Texas every other Republican political ad has literally just said, x has been in lockstep with President Trump. x worked with Trump to do y. etc. Literally, that's the ad, that's it.

So, yeah, there's that...

Andy Borowitz: WASHINGTON—Donald J. Trump announced on Sunday that he had successfully completed the first phase of the Kennedy Center’s renovation by removing its audience.

Arguing that a building cannot undergo construction while people are still in it, Trump revealed that he had spent the past year ensuring that no one would set foot inside the performing arts center for the foreseeable future.

He achieved that goal with blazing efficiency by putting his name on the building, naming himself chairman, and alienating any performing artist one might conceivably pay to see.

Additionally, audiences have steered clear of the Kennedy Center out of fear that they might be seated next to JD Vance.

In a Truth Social post, Trump boasted, “For the past 54 years, the Kennedy Center has been plagued by audiences. I was able to fix that problem in just twelve months!”

Trump is playing the Obama faked the election card as a distraction.

Important note however: Most of those parts from the Epstein files like the one above are just statements given to the police. It doesn't mean that they are true. Especially with high profile cases, often people with psychiatric problems come out and give false witness to the police. You should pay attention to how the statements were treated by police. Often there are comments that certain aspects were checked and then could not be verified.
It's best to avoid presenting plausible excuses at this point I think.
