The only Russian agents missing from Donny Jr.s’ meeting were Boris and Natasha from “Rocky and Bullwinkle.”
Worse, that Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, with whom Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and campaign manager Paul Manafort were so eager and happy to meet with has, yes, links to the firm that produced the disgusting and unproven dossier about Trump and Russian hookers in the first place.

...the fact that Veselnitskkaya was associated with Fusion GPS, the group that put together the absurd "peeing hooker" dossier, is a point in favor of Trump here. It was not the Trumps that were "so eager and happy to meet" with her. Someone approached Trump Jr. and said that there was this Russian government lawyer who supposedly had some official, damaging information to share about HRC. Trump Jr wanted a phone conference first, but that was not possible, and so he agreed to "take a meeting" - that's how it is alleged to have happened. So they met, and it turned out Veselnitskaya had no information, and wanted to talk about the Magnitsky Act and adoptions, even though she was in the country on "advance parole" for the limited purpose of helping a client in a civil forfeiture case in the Southern District of New York. The Obama administration gave her that advance parole, after she was denied a visa previously. So, the same "Russian government lawyer" who was denied a normal visa, but then was granted advance parole just in time to take the meeting with Trump, and who was also involved with the group who was paid by the DNC to do anti-Trump work, and the same group that prepared the ludicrous and discredit "hooker dossier" - this is what we're supposed to think is "Trump colluding with the Russians..."

That's it, right? Where do we sign the impeachment petition? LOL

Looks to me like you're trying to bury the fact that Trump Jr. was very excited about the prospect to get the dirt on Clinton via Russian government sources, and that Trump Sn. knew about it. The fact that things transpired differently is irrelevant. The fact that meetings were actively arranged and held is.

Hopefully nothing comes of any attempt to impeach the manchild. It's better to have an incompetent buffoon at the helm of the good ship USA than a right wing arch-conservative who has sufficient experience with the congressional machinery to get things done. While Trump occupies the presidential office playing golf and tweeting how great he is, Pence stays in stand-by mode.

This is not accurate. The emails refer to a "Russian government lawyer" - it does not say it's a Russian official. The emails are vague as to what dirt is available, only that it's official information. And, so what? If it was Finnish or Kenyan official information providing dirt on Clinton - like - maybe someone in Kenya or Finland had information on HRC to show that she engaged in a "pay for play" scheme there, is there anything wrong with Trump Jr. meeting a government lawyer about it?

She was a former government lawyer - formerly a prosecutor. Even if she was still a prosecutor, there is nothing wrong with Trump Jr. meeting with her, even if his purpose was to see if she has incriminating information about HRC. There is no implication that the information is not lawful.

I can't argue with you on the issue of a government governing best which governs least. Of course, to suggest Trump is not getting anything done is just to ignore reality, which of course is understandable given that the mainstream media does not report on his accomplishments. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo ... us_value=0 and http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-ex ... american-1

We hear hardly anything on CNN about the successful battle to take ISIS out of Mosul. That battle is over and ISIS has lost 60% of its territory. The battle of Raqqa is beginning, and if Raqqa is taken, then ISIS loses their self-proclaimed capitol. Hawija and Tal Afar in Iraq are both completely surrounded, and the US backed forces look to be poised to squash ISIS there. Al Qaim and then Bukamal, and it should be curtains for ISIS.

There is little being said about this in the news - because, they can't criticize Trump for pursuing a plan to defeat ISIS, since they all supported Obama's efforts in doing so. But, they won't report on it in detail unless there is a defeat for American backed forces, or some Special Ops plane or helicopter gets downed. Then you'll see reports from Andrew Cuomo and Jake Tapper asking whether Trump's plan can succeed, etc. They also need to let some time go by between the last, drone-happy and interventionist, administration, and the Trump administration - once about a year goes by, then they'll start bleating about war for oil again, and about unlawful interventions where we don't have UN approval and nobody attacked us. Those issues apply only to Republican Presidencies, but to raise them now would be in poor taste, so soon after nobody was mentioning them under the previous administration.

Now you're getting really desperate to fudge the issue. Reading the emails makes the conclusion inescapable that the Trumps were actively engaged in obtaining dirt on Clinton sourced from Russian government agencies. The fact that this particular project consisting of said emails, phone calls and meetings did not pan out the way they had hoped is neither here nor there.

Did you get the impression that I claimed Trump is not getting anything done? If so, read what I wrote again. You'll find no such claim. Trump has achieved heaps of damage, but in my opinion a Pence presidency would achieve a whole lot more, and this is why I hope there will be no impeachment.

Oh. Not having read the bottom bit of 42's ramble, I missed that, but now that you have drawn my attention to it, it's worthwhile pointing out that the battle for Mosul commenced 11 months, and the final push three months before Trump was sworn in as POTUS. I agree that the meeting not panning out does not change the intent of the parties getting into the meeting, but the point I'm making is different. If you read the emails, they do not think they are meeting with government agencies. They believe they are meeting with a Russian government lawyer who was not identified, and who said he or she had official information that was incriminating or negative toward HRC. So what? It's not unlawful to get information from sources who have "official" (whatever that means) information.

If your concern is that DJT,Jr. wanted to meet with a "Russian government lawyer" because he thought that person had "dirt" on HRC, my question to you is -- so what? What's wrong with that?

We'll see. The odd part is that we get heaps of news on CNN about Trump being a big meanie to CNN, but not a lot about the progress of the fight against ISIS. Will it ultimately work and will ISIS be defeated? Obviously, I have no crystal ball. But, we can either fight them, or not. If we're going to fight them, then I suppose we have to kill their soldiers and take their territory.

So, is it a success, then? And, when the next city falls, will that be a success? And, when accounting for the Trump administration's changes to the way the war is being fought, we may see more successes. He has opted to arm the Kurds to assist in the fight in Raqqa, the next big city that needs to fall. It might be newsworthy for CNN and other major news outlets to spend some time on the ISIS issues.

Of course the fight against ISIS was going on before Trump took office. Nobody's denying that.

ISIS has been driven out of Mosul. Excellent. That's not your point, though, is it? Your point is the complaint that the media ignores it because it's Trump's plan that succeeded, rather than Obama's:

Thanks for not acknowledging that the battle for Mosul commenced 11 months, and the final push three months before Trump was sworn in as POTUS. Planning for it and putting in the logistic groundwork began even earlier, even while you quoted it back. Driving IS out of Mosul was not Trump's plan, so your complaint falls flat on its face.
