Yes. Your husband's Glock is capable of accepting high-capacity detachable magazines up to and including 100 round drums:maiforpeace wrote:
So, if I understand you correctly, a gun like a Glock is essentially this type of gun?

My rifle came with a 90-round drum magazine, along with 4 30-round and one 40 round magazine. Most handguns use detachable magazines, and their capacity can be expanded similarly with such a magazine.
I won't disagree with that idea, but I would argue that it is more likely to prevent a normal, well-adjusted gun owner whose gun will never be misused in such a manner from obtaining this type of gun, while being ineffective at preventing someone who is hell-bent on causing harm from obtaining them. Also, see my edit in my prior post - it responds to your comments about people making their own guns. It's still a lot harder to manufacture your own gun than it is to simply walk into a store and buy one.

No wonder some people love guns so much, that looks like a dick and balls!

It is worth noting that while such aftermarket accessories are most widely available for Glocks, this isn't owing to any particular feature of that gun that makes it more feasible than another. The Glock handgun is simply one of the most popular handguns on the market, and as such has one of the largest markets for aftermarket accessories. If it wasn't the Glock, it could be any number of other semi-automatic handguns instead.

It still wouldn't be automatic, each of those 100 rounds requires a separate pull of the trigger. Personally, I've seen too many examples of failed firearm suicides to ever attempt such a thing if I were ever inclined to take my own life.maiforpeace wrote:

I didn't think of that, for some reason I though one trigger pull would fire all ten rounds or more at once.Wumbologist wrote:It still wouldn't be automatic, each of those 100 rounds requires a separate pull of the trigger. I think I'll revert back to the original idea of committing suicide by drug overdose.

There are three basic categories of firearm operating modes:
Single-action, where one must manually operate the action of the firearm between every shot. Guns like the single-action revolvers in old Westerns, bolt-action rifles, and pump-action shotguns, fall into this category. One has to manually cock the hammer, or work the bolt, or such in order to prepare the gun to fire the next round
Semi-automatic, where the gun does most of the work, but the trigger still has to be pulled in between each round. This second category is likely the most common in the US, with most handguns and many long guns designed to eject the spent casing, and chamber the next round in preparation for the next pull of the trigger
Full-auto guns, which essentially require the user to simply hold down the trigger and the firearm will continue to shoot until empty. These guns are exceptionally rare and difficult to acquire in the US, for reasons that are quite long-winded to explain. These are typically found in law-enforcement or military hands only, and in military use are actually used mostly for the purpose of suppressive fire, keeping the enemy's head down. The idea of full-auto machine guns being unlimited ammo murder hoses is greatly overstated by Hollywood and the media, in reality, full-auto capability will run a firearm dry too fast for an individual to make practical use of. I got to shoot one of these on my birthday last year, a WWII-era Thompson rented by a nearby range. Lots of fun, but ultimately not very practical and cost biiiig wampum.
Personally, I'd fear a trained shooter with a semi-automatic firearm putting each bullet individually on target, rather than wildly spraying bullets in the general direction of what they want to hit.

I think I'll stick with archery for now.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
