If only you could ban Trump's speeches from view, you could convince me he said what he didn't say, or that he really meant what you said he meant.

It might even be believable, if I didn't keep reminding myself how wrong and insulting you have been toward Trump supporters. A quite diverse group, by the way.
Is that supposed to mean I have emphasised similarities between ISIS, Antifa and Trump supporters after all, or are you just changing tack with a "yabbut"?

As for antifa, I don't think I have ever compared or contrasted them with ISIS or Trump supporters.

No, I looked up a comparison between ISIS and Antifa, because I thought it was hilariously wrong for you to compare two pictures, one of ISIS, one of Trump supporters.

It showed me that whichever bias you have, you can find comparisons like that.

And I remember your bias. It aligns well with the endless streams of media companies, and tech companies, who ban Trump or try to reduce the spread of his messages. While allowing other horrible stuff.

It's as funny as a site that would limit the sale of Seuss books, but not Mein Kampf or furry porn.

--------

Getting back to the thread topic, I did hear that the jurors working on the Floyd case were worried about getting doxxed, and having their lives damaged. I personally think there will be riots no matter the outcome. Tough job. Glad I don't have to do it.

I wonder if anyone here had their mind changed about the case, after viewing the second, later released video. Floyd was saying he couldn't breathe before he was ever put on the ground.

He asked, to be put on the ground.

Seeing it changed my mind a bit about what happened. Don't even know if anyone here saw the second video, or if their minds were changed. I'm worried about saying the wrong thing, because I DO! (in real life, my filter is lacking - my actual phone number is ***-CUNT)

Viewing how more moderate, thoughtful people might view that new bit of evidence is in some ways better than discussing it myself. I do read discussions online, and it seems like as soon as the 'case' gets messy and unclear, normal folks withdraw from discussing it.

It's almost like what was described as a 'Kafka trap'.

I contrasted them. I wrote ISIS and Trump supporters were not the same. Isis is fundamentally theocratic. Trump supporters are fundamentally racist. And I wrote the difference between them does not show up in the pictures.

I've moved on.

I don't believe you when you claim Trump supporters are fundamentally racist. I suspect it is different definitions, but it isn't important.

Did you see the second Floyd vid? Or are you still stuck on a subject I've agreed to disagree with you on?

Yes, I have seen the second Floyd vid. It does not convince me that the cop was justified in killing him. It also does not serve as evidence that blacks are not on the whole materially worse off than whites on the whole.

You watched both vids, and still refer to it as 'killing him' without the verdict being in?

Very much horseshit, but very much an approved position.

I expect a heavy media bias, around the trial, in favour of rioting. I hope I'm wrong.

Crowder was banned from Twitter AGAIN! Suffice it to say, it’s ON NOW! Lawyer Bill Richmond joins us with an update on what’s being done legally. We’re also taking a deep dive into how horrible Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is. HINT: Outside the gropey stuff, she’s WORSE than Andrew Cuomo. All this and special guest Rand Paul.

Well, two autopsies found Floyd's death to be a homicide, and the cop spent over nine minutes choking him with his knee. I would think that even the fittest person would have died from being choked in less time than that, but if the murder trial, which began four days ago, determines otherwise, I'll change my mind provided there has been no skulduggery going on behind the scenes.

Not that the outcome disproves racism. Anecdote - statistics and all that

So you dismissed the second vid, with Floyd expressing that he couldn't breathe long before the knee was holding him down?

Or you have decided that the cops killed him with intent of some kind (I think the charge is '2nd degree murder') and will be convicted based on...?

What shows the cops' intent?

Getting back to the topic of the thread, I came across an interesting study on bias in news coverage from about a year ago. Here's the abstract, but the link will take you to the entire article.
There is no liberal media bias in which news stories political journalists choose to cover

Abstract
Is the media biased against conservatives? Although a dominant majority of journalists identify as liberals/Democrats and many Americans and public officials frequently decry supposedly high and increasing levels of media bias, little compelling evidence exists as to (i) the ideological or partisan leanings of the many journalists who fail to answer surveys and/or identify as independents and (ii) whether journalists’ political leanings bleed into the choice of which stories to cover that Americans ultimately consume. Using a unique combination of a large-scale survey of political journalists, data from journalists’ Twitter networks, election returns, a large-scale correspondence experiment, and a conjoint survey experiment, we show definitively that the media exhibits no bias against conservatives (or liberals for that matter) in what news that they choose to cover. This shows that journalists’ individual ideological leanings have unexpectedly little effect on the vitally important, but, up to this point, unexplored, early stage of political news generation.

Epstein didn't kill himself.

Some group of biased media sources sure killed the story though.

It does not matter when Floyd first said he can't breathe. He was handcuffed for the entire time Chauvin choked him with his knee, and Chauvin continued choking him for two or three minutes after Floyd became unresponsive. Also, Chauvin's intention is irrelevant. He was charged with second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree manslaughter.

And again, none of this disproves racism.

I know it doesn't matter to you. It's unsurprising that your position agrees with that which would likely be found on 'The View'.

While it may be true that ideology doesn't play a significant part in which stories are covered, it may play a larger part in how those stories are covered. I haven't read the paper, so don't know if they address that issue.

A bit of a spat, about a cat, involving a man in a beanie hat.

'YouTube Star Tim Pool's News Site Collapses Amid Allegations He Took a Cat Hostage'
All is not well in the burgeoning media empire of YouTube political commentator Tim Pool. Amid an acrimonious falling out over who controls the future of a digital news site that Pool helped launch, the YouTube star is facing accusations from former partners that he used a cat named Betsy as a hostage in business negotiations, only handing the pet over after police were called.

“He was trying to use my cat as leverage,” said Emily Molli, Betsy’s owner and a former Pool business partner.

Pool says he never had custody of the cat, whose return to Molli was eventually arranged through an animal shelter and a Maryland sheriff’s lieutenant.

When he’s not facing cat-related accusations, Pool is living the life of a YouTube star.

...

The allegations that Pool used a cat as a bargaining chip in a business dispute go beyond the fate of Betsy, who is now back with Molli in Los Angeles.

The fracas sheds new light on how Pool and his co-founders failed to launch a news site amid infighting, despite more than $1 million in crowdfunded backing. This year was supposed to be the time that Pool’s news company approached 50 staffers and opened satellite offices in Los Angeles and Chicago, according to a pitch deck shown to investors. Instead, Pool has wondered whether his site even exists anymore as a going concern.
