The gender thing, from the RIGHT

The litter box meme came from simpler times, before the Republican Big Lie Machine got into full swing, when I’m pretty sure it was basically a joke invented by right-wing bigots to try to undermine the whole idea of non-conforming gender identity. Today, the policies of the right, driven by Trump with unrelenting fury, are based on a constant barrage of lies that are meant to be believed and understood literally. None of Trump’s cult think that “transgender mice” is a joke – they think it’s an example of “liberalism” run amok.

The disruptions are already cascading through academia. The N.I.H. could stand to restructure its institutes to minimize duplicative work, to fund projects with greater transformative potential, to demand more transparency in how institutions calculate their administrative overhead. But what Trump is doing is not reform, it is subversion. And it could not come at a worse time.

Trump is a dedicated practitioner of ‘Christian Positive Thinking’ as taught him by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. Reality can be made to conform to his strongly held beliefs. The world is as he believes it to be. We are in the ‘Golden Age of Trump’. We are the beneficiaries of his omniscience.

"Christian Positive Thinking’ encourages ignorance. One can replace the pesky tedium of scientific investigation with common sense. Trump was lumping, not distinguishing, terms. He does not know, or see any reason to care, about a difference. So, it’s ignorance. However the smallness of his world also makes him malicious.

I am overwhelmed observing our modern technological society, choose as its’ leader, a religiously deranged man with the mental scope of a six year old.

Everybody has a theory!

If courts — specifically the Republican-appointed majority of the Supreme Court — uphold arguments based on the so-called “unitary executive theory,” it would give Trump and subsequent presidents unprecedented power to remove and replace any federal employee and impose their will on every decision in every agency.

Rulings in favor of the Trump administration would also further jeopardize the independence of key regulatory agencies that are susceptible to conflicts of interest and political interference, like the Federal Election Commission, which oversees federal elections and campaign finance laws.
