AmeriKKKa
Re: AmeriKKKa
That can happen. So can accusations without evidence.
So your claim, is that someone was shitty on the internet? On a forum?
OK. I believe you. I also believe that claims of that nature are often a matter of perspective.
Like Andy Ngo on Antifa, or Antifa on Andy Ngo. I know it is complicated, but I find a real reluctance to stand with the group standing against free speech.
His interview tour is interesting. He's done Dave Rubin most recently. They had a meeting just as Mr. Ngo was recovering from injuries done to him, which he claims was antifa. The responses to him are more interesting than his new book (I haven't bought it, or Rudy's silver)

But dude, I was only sharing my experience with Mindromp. I wasn't making a comment about free speech. Have you ever been in a room full of crazies? When they were finally made to shut the fuck up for a second, did you immediately think you were dealing with a free speech issue?
What if you told your friend about how you hated the place because the loonies were loudmouthed assholes, would you expect her to launch a discussion about free speech?

It's a complicated problem, for sure. The crazies have as much right as the non-crazies.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 7:48 pmBut dude, I was only sharing my experience with Mindromp. Overlapping rights and priorities are why I am more tolerant of crazies than we are coached these days. Cancel culture is fascist.

Of course. I sat on a local board of the CMHA, and other involvements.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 7:53 pmWow. No, a real room full of crazies. I guess you haven't.
Is your point that too much of it is scary?
What I do about crazies, is decide if I want to engage with them, and how much. If they get too much trouble, I just ignore their words. That's the beautiful thing about forums. If you don't like something, you can just move on, without interfering with others continuing the conversation.

Re: AmeriKKKa
My point is that I shared my experience with Mindromp and you turned it into a discussion about free speech.
I had hoped my comment about crazies would help you to consider times when having an adverse reaction to others isn't really a free speech issue. It's just somebody sharing how they didn't like being around certain people.

It's not a coincidence that Cunt's bizarre hijacking of my simple sharing has lead to another chance for him to claim superiority on some matter, is it?

Re: AmeriKKKa
That IS the issue. It's not about people, it's about ideas, but people stir it steadily (if a forum works at all, I mean)Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 8:12 pmMy point is that I shared my experience with Mindromp and you turned it into a discussion about free speech.

There are people on VERY opposite sides of, for example, the antifa issues. Both sides could be called 'full of shit' or whatever, but if you try to accept they aren't, you have to accept that they probably think each other crazy. Should one be able to silence the other, we might never know which is which.
By the way, cancel culture isn't singly ignoring someone, if you need a definition, I can't help you, but you might list the victims, if you want me to think you understand the term.
Contrariwise, you could just accept that I am serious about my support of free speech, more so than the other issues people raise to object to it.

Re: AmeriKKKa
Some guy was calling people retarded, cocksucking pieces of shit, kill yourself, you're a waste of oxygen blah, blah, blah. I didn't like being around it. I shared that with you.
Now you're talking about yourself and free speech.

I've been called stuff. It was unpleasant. I don't know what point you are going for, other than 'sometimes people suck'.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 8:47 pmSome guy was calling people retarded, cocksucking pieces of shit, kill yourself, you're a waste of oxygen blah, blah, blah. I don't plan to return to Mindromp because I don't like being around guys like that. --seems simple enough and has got fuck all to do with you or free speech.

Re: AmeriKKKa
It's like Cunt is a robot. I'm not even in the discussion, or at least my input seems stripped of everything apart from keywords that might trigger a preprogrammed response.
For example, my attempts to convey how bizarre his response is by showing how out of place it would be were he in a discussion with a friend, has had zero impact. Instead he's just kept to some script.
--incredible
Is he a bot?
