No, I mean the social media companies...facebook, twitter, google etc. They are private businesses, and can be platforms or publishers or a weird mix of both, depending on the laws in the countries they choose for their offices.

So while it may be a concern that Russia buys a few ads, it could be a bigger concern if they owned significant shares in those companies.

But it's a sign of the sudden optimism around his candidacy that some in his circle of trust are starting to think down the road, starting with the V.P. pick:
