I still haven't heard why they're evil. I wonder how much of it is down to our inability to reason about enormous corporations?

Amazon had 653,300 employees around the world at the end of June, not including temporary workers and contractors. Just fewer than half of those are in the United States.
Or just over half the population of Amsterdam, the Netherlands largest city.

Quite a few dirty corners in Amsterdam, eh?

Hey Tero - I need some chemistry advice. Some numbnuts put this shitty fiber reinforced tape on the rubrail on one side of the boat. It looks horrible and is really hard to get off. Not even a heat gun works. I've tried acetone and denatured alcohol, does nothing. Mineral spirits disolves the adhesive, but it takes a LOT of mineral spirits and a LOT of rubbing and there's a fucking LOT of tape to remove. Any other suggestions? Legal shit, I mean, I don't want to have to break into an armory or anything.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Yeah that's more material science. The stuff falls apart when you try to remove it. I tried every solvent on stickers and they work a little bit. When the solvent is gone from glue, it becomes less cooperstive. It sticks to whatever it was stuck to.

Your glue is doing what it was supposed to do.

Did you try Goof Off? It works fairly well. Or a razorblade scraper?

Goof Off is a good idea, probably have some around here. Or WD 40 - apparently it does everything. Tried a razor scraper but scratched the stainless steel on the rail.

There are some pretty strong paint removers, but I have not removed oil paint for a while so I never use them. The best ones were sort of pasted on and peeled everything, but were nevertheless water soluble for wash up. Some are sold as paint brush cleaner.

I used that citrus stuff to strip varnish. It works OK but takes several applications. The nice thing is you can spread it on with your hands and it doesn't burn you. Not for a minute or so, anyway. And it smells nice.
