Am I correct if I read through the lines that the advert company says you are allowed to lie on adverts if it is for a political party? "definitely is a god" is a statement that would need to be backed up with evidence, which all know they do not have.

Why "either side"? Put the atheist message on the left and right sides, and the Godly message on the top and bottom. :twisted:mrenutt4 wrote:Just put messages from either side (of the arguement ) on either side of the bus.

I think political parties are covered by a different set of rules and a different organisation... I have no idea what they are though.leo-rcc wrote:Am I correct if I read through the lines that the advert company says you are allowed to lie on adverts if it is for a political party? Well if anything potentially positive at all can come of this ridiculous situation it's the highlighting of the absurd double standard here. ^^^Pappa wrote:I think political parties are covered by a different set of rules and a different organisation... There have been problems with political ads over the years too, most famously the Evil Blair one. I'll see if I can find out what rules apply to political ads.

Ah.. it is the ASA that covers political ads, but not for truth and honesty, only taste and decency. How stupid is that.
