I appreciate the sentiment, but not the anti-Semitic undertones. What the fuck have shekels got to do with anything save for the fact that they are a Jewish currency? This is rather repellent, and is more than a little insightful with regards to your position on Israel. I shall keep this statement for posterity, as it were.

Aside from that I generally concur with what you have to say.
Are you serious? Sometimes it is a little hard to tell.

Note definition 4. Shekel can be, and often is, used as a synonym for money. The phrase I used, "the shekels keep flowing" is not an uncommon one. Anti-Semitic my arse.

Your opinion of "my position on Israel" is based on my criticism of one political action. I have visited Israel many times and, as with every other country in which I spent time, it has its good and it has its bad. You will have to look long and hard to find a racist bone in my body.

And it is delightful to discover that we agree on something, even if you used that agreement for an unwarranted attack.
I've never seen anything anti-Semitic about you XC. But, I still haven't forgiven you for Jewin' me down on that car I sold you last year. It was worth at least $1000 more than you paid me, you fuckin' Limey bastard.
I refuse to argue money with you until you provide that pound of flesh you still owe - end of!

Yes I noticed the 4th definition, a slang term. Care to think about why Jewish currency became slang for money? The answer is rather obvious to anyone who bothers to think about it. I might entertain the notion that you didn't put this together in your head, but it might take some convincing. As for the Israel thing, if you have been following the situation in Gaza you would note that this so called attack on the UN school was grossly exaggerated and that the death toll was only twelve, 10 of whom were Hamas members carrying weapons. So dry your eyes. BTW, the "UN" in Gaza is comprised of Arab-Muslims (many Hamas), the propaganda was staggering.

I don't think we totally agree, free markets are still the best method for running an economy, I just tend to think more popular influence on them is better than less. You will find it hard to get me to agree that socialism is the answer as, aside from Islam, the greatest impetus to violence in the world has been Marxism and Socialism. This common good nonsense gets trotted out every time some poor fuck is getting steamrolled. I just happen to agree that the American notion of "Libertarian" is perverted, although I would still consider myself a true Libertarian in the Chomsky sense.
So now I am a Marxist? Do you have to attach a label to everyone? Is that the only way you can deal with the world? In black or white? Yes or no? For or against? There are shades of grey if you look. And if you look really hard, there are actually colours as well.

Please play nice. Because I will not rise to your bait.

I didn't call you a "Marxist" I said socialism (the state control of markets) is not the answer, I said further that Marxism and socialism (which are, although linked, not synonymous) are causes of violence (for color see IRA, Tigers of Tamil Eelam, PFLP, etc...). As you move from a free market to a control market you see ever increasing encroachment of government legislation on free enterprise, which is a 'socialist' tool. So yes, I am unconvinced that sudden shifts to control economy are good things. However I remain quite skeptical of the notion of "free markets", and if you had bothered to read Chomsky on the matter of the perversion of "libertarianism" you would know that I was skeptical of both private and public centralization of power.

Now the question I have to ask is, did you simply misread what I wrote, did you intentionally mistate what I wrote, or were you incapable of reading what I wrote?

There is no bait, simply curiosity at why you would arrive at such a conclusion. And I stand by my original comment that there is a curious connection between your use of slang (Shekel) and your objection to the sole Jewish state on the planet defending itself against barbarians.
