It'd take about 10 minutes of that before I'd be scrabbling under the stairs looking for my cricket bat.

You've got that right, although one of my favorite moments from my life in corporate America was when an executive bigwig was holding forth at a get together at a coworker's house, and her kid's furbies started heckling him from the other room.

We had many laughs over that.

I spent 36 dollars on Amazon today, free shipping! Free!

I don't buy many worthless (50c in trade for a $16 disc), but I have a new favorite orchestra. I feel I have to support some baroque orchestras. They get nothing from a used disc. Alternative is Import CDs that catalog poorly. Sinelius and Vivaldi are often found as performers there.

I took your advice and started reading some Glynn Stewart and M.R. Forbes. Reading the Starship Mage series now. Gets a bit young adulty in spots but overall a good read. Like the Forbes Sheriff Duke series too.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Glynn has written several series. One of my favourites is the "Duchy of Terra" series - probably a bit less young adulty, a bit more hard SF...

Evan Currie is another good author in this vein...

I started on the nest series after "Dutchy of Terra", "Light of Terra", I think. Quite liked it but only 2 books so far. I think it occurs after the Dutchy timeline.

Correct - the earlier books fill in the background. An interesting assortment of aliens...

I love evil Amazon... :Jack:

I had a Nook for a year. Or two. It was a cool new thing. The number of books was so small compared to Kindle I have the Kundle app on a tablet now.

But I am happy to have 2 Barnes and Noble stores in town. Us being a university town.

Didn't Barnes and Noble invent the bouncing bomb?

Do Netflix and Amazon operate in central Africa?
