There are a lot of mischaracterizations of Objectivism out there, but I don't really much care if people disagree with me (to each their own and such.) I just always feel the need to speak up when I see something that implies that right-leaning political views are irrevocably tied to religious belief (This is especially the stereotype in the US.)AshtonBlack wrote:I got that.andrewclunn wrote:Yes, butI'm not actually her.

I just never got "her."
Quite strange. (Then again I am a left leaning centrist.)

I agree with you! I have met, spoken to and corresponded with a number of "right wing" atheists. Though, in the US, stats do show at least a correlation between right wing politics and religiosity.andrewclunn wrote:There are a lot of mischaracterizations of Objectivism out there, but I don't really much care if people disagree with me (to each their own and such.) Back to the OP. She will never ever EVER make it to the white house. I have some belief that even the populace of the US aren't that stupid. (Ok, bush... but let's forgive that "episode".)

Is it too spiteful to hope she gets roundly humiliated in any such attempt?

The scariest thing about her considering this is that she might win.Charlou wrote:Is it too spiteful to hope she gets roundly humiliated in any such attempt?

From a country that elected the biggest, most dimwitted prat in the Western world into the Whitehouse it's not too far-fetched at all ... You guys have my sympathy and, yes, even my useless prayers. It's the thought that counts, right? Right???

I would vote for Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin.
Cue the innuendo.

I also read that Santorum was going to run for it... Now... Santorum and Palin as team, that would be something...
But I suspect it's a fog curtain to make it easy for Rush Limbaugh to get the nomination...
It's worrying/Funny/Interesting (pick one) that American politics are currently indistinguishable from comedy...
I mean: Fox News is serious or comedy? And Jon Stewart is he a comedian or a political analyst?
The Palin nomination, the Bush administration... Did they really happen or some alien has implanted a Leslie Nielsen movie as my last 8 years memories??

I fear you are right. We seem to insist making the same mistakes over and over again. Not only Bush jr., but also Ronald Reagan twice. Sheesh. I feel depressed now.
