There are a lot of mischaracterizations of Objectivism out there, but I don't really much care if people disagree with me (to each their own and such.) I just always feel the need to speak up when I see something that implies that right-leaning political views are irrevocably tied to religious belief (This is especially the stereotype in the US.)

I agree with you! I have met, spoken to and corresponded with a number of "right wing" atheists. Though, in the US, stats do show at least a correlation between right wing politics and religiosity.
