It probably is racist. But on the issue of size, Polynesians are fucking huge on average. Their culture celebrates large size. Well, at least the Tongans do. I presume the others are similar, given their very similar cultures.

Well, if you're going to blame New Zealand's teen pregnancy, obesity, and violence on your Maori, can I blame all of the US's problems on our blacks and Mexicans?

I did not say 'Maori". I said polynesians. Maori make up 15% of our population and recent polynesian immigrants another 10%. Together they more than 'pull their weight' in those categories.

To be fair, the weight thing is not totally their fault. They almost have an "obesity gene". That is, they have a metabolism that better hangs on to calories than we Europeans do. It appears that their evolutionary past included more famine periods, and they evolved a more efficient calorie conserving metabolism.

I would like to know what REALLY happened to his companion. He looks remarkably chubby for someone who's been adrift for over a year.
( he's the absolute spitting image of a friend I used to know, and HE was a fisherman too, but English ).
