At least they are doing secession the proper way. The Merkins should have released a White Paper instead of throwing all that lovely tea in the harbour and then going on to spell harbour incorrectly.

Given that the majority of Scots don't want independence, it appears Salmond doesn't care what they think....ronmcd wrote:This topic again? Who cares what the uppity scotch think.

The paper wants to have its cake and eat it. The Queen remains head of state, the pound their currency, but they take all fiscal decisions. England underwrites their banks if they go under. Bloody nerve of it!

If it all goes haywire, England can apply to be a new Australian state...Rum wrote:The paper wants to have its cake and eat it. The Queen remains head of state, the pound their currency, but they take all fiscal decisions. England underwrites their banks if they go under. Bloody nerve of it!

At least you'd be able to have a fighting chance of getting one or two blokes into the Australian cricket team...

Re: White Paper on Scottish Independence
Give England it's own parliament, and divest power from the UK to Scotland, Wales, England, and NI.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
