I believe it can now, technically, be referred to as a kerfuffle.

Who's gonna win the war if the US stops military aid?
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Michael and Dan? What a bizarre team. But I think those two having to run a country together would make for great TV.

It's a tragic complex mess but everyone gets to be shocked and offended, so that's good.

Maybe the protagonists will weary of the bloodshed, and in the spirit of common humanity, will agree to sit down together and work out a rational compromise which will guarantee the rights of all Egyptians to live lives of peace and harmony, free from the bullying of heavy-handed government or religion.

Only joking.

Yep and you know this is the sort of shit we all clustered together to try and help rid the world of. I'm so glad I seen the error of my ways and realised it was far more important to worry about the behaviour of mentally adolescent drunks at the U.S. Atheism conference scene.

As far as we individual ratz are concerned, both subjects are of nearly equal importance since there's not much we can do about either... well, maybe some of us CAN do something about/with our fellow atheists, because none of us can help any way about this whole Arabic disaster (and I mean Arabic as in from Tunisia to Syria, wherever the islamists are severely impeding democracy and human rights)

Yeah, that's why I put it in quotes. Although, according to what I know of Marxism, it's all part of the revolution, man. Problem is, it's never clearly elucidated when we can expect "the revolution" to end.

It would be a marxist revolution if it was the proletariat against the bourgeois... but it's the religious against the secular, a schema outside the marxist view.

If the US cuts food aid then we can say the malthusian die-off has really begun at last. Hope the cannibals don't win but they probably will if mankind is to survive this fall from grace. A lesson in over-population that'll never be forgotten - if digital camera technology survives that is. :coffee:

Nah its called revolution because it revolves. Aristos and theo's become dead, the bourgeouis and politicos become the aristos and theos and the flock and the proles get fucked over.

I like dialectics with 3 sides.

I doubt so, the place isn't evolved enough yet, give it 5 centuries and we'll talk again.

I'm sick of people on this thread, who just talk and talk about awful things like this.

What we need is ACTION, not talk.

If you lot can't be bothered, sod the lot of you. I'm going to actually do something about it.

Oh Lord, we pray that you look down upon Egypt, and .. . . . in your .. ............... souls .. . .
