Why are there two threads like this?

Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

Europhobes (and xenophobes) will be annoyed by this award. Europhiles will be pleased* about the recognition of the EU, as it has served as one of the key components for a wide European inclusivity. I don't have a timeline to hand, but this might be one of the longest periods of peace that Europe has ever seen.

*I'm pleased.
It is the longest period and worthwhile in my view if only for that. Though are think there are other good things about it too!

Mergedness achieved! I think I will leave the duplicate OPs as an example to others! :hehe:

My post seemed to vanish. Anyway, I was saying I think the O.U. may have been more deserving. Perhaps next year they'll give it to James Holmes for not shooting his fellow inmates during film night.

This clown Jagland needs to have his balls cut off, and we should leave the responsibility for handing out the peace price to the Swedes. They do a nice job with the other Nobel prices, and we have fucked this up so bad we don't deserve to have anything to do with it.
Started? remember when Arafat got it, with his record? A wonder Radovan Karazic or Ratko Mladic didn't get one.

The Obama prize was ridiculous. The Arafat one wasn't. He was working towards a peaceful solution, despite strong political pressures not to.

We relinquished responsibility to NATO for that. That reminds me, a mate in Uni ran a series of fundraisers for Kosovo called "OH MY GOD! NATO KILLED KENNY!!!"
